Job Description – Preschool Teacher (Chinese)

We are looking for a passionate and dedicated Preschool Teacher (Chinese) to join our team. Our preschool adopts a Inquiry-based, immersive learning environment where children are encouraged to explore, inquire, and learn through meaningful experiences.

As a Chinese Language teacher, you will create a nurturing and engaging environment that develops children’s confidence in Mandarin while cultivating curiosity and love for learning.

Key Responsibilities

• Plan, prepare, and deliver age-appropriate Chinese language lessons and activities aligned with the Reggio-inspired approach.
• Create an immersive Mandarin-speaking environment to encourage children’s daily use of the language.
• Foster children’s curiosity, creativity, and critical thinking through inquiry-based and project-based learning.
• Observe, document, and assess children’s learning and development, providing constructive feedback to parents.
• Work collaboratively with co-teachers to design and implement holistic, bilingual learning experiences.
• Build positive, respectful relationships with children, families, and colleagues.
• Ensure a safe, engaging classroom that supports independence and exploration.
• Participate in school events, parent-teacher conferences, and professional development sessions.

Requirements

• Must hold relevant Early Childhood qualifications recognized by ECDA (e.g. L2 certification, ACEY [Chinese], Diploma in Early Childhood Care & Education – Teaching [Chinese]).
• Strong command of spoken and written Mandarin Chinese with ability to engage children effectively.
• Passionate about early childhood education and nurturing children’s development.
• Familiarity or experience with the Inquiry-based approach preferred (training provided for suitable candidates).
• Good classroom management, communication, and interpersonal skills.
• Caring, creative, and collaborative teaching style.
• ECDA certification and registration as a qualified Chinese Language teacher.
