This role is all about creating a great wellness experience and building a community that supports and cheers each other on.
Key Responsibilities
- Champion member experiences by guiding them through the club's check-in and check-out procedures.
- Guide members on the use of fitness equipment, correcting their technique and offering supportive spotting.
- Ensure fitness equipment is fully functional and promptly report any maintenance needs to the Supervisor or Executive.
- Guide members on proper gym etiquette.
- Maintain a safe and positive training environment, ensuring adherence to club rules and standards.
- Lead orientation workouts and fitness consultations for new members.
- Keep the gym and its equipment clean and hygienic at all times.
- Oversee maintenance and repairs to ensure they meet club standards.
- Support the planning and management of Part-time Fitness Instructors' schedules.
- Consistently meet and exceed personal training sales targets.
- Handle inquiries on departmental events, activities and promotions.
- Any other duties as and when assigned by the Supervisor/Executive and management.
Requirements
- Diploma in Sports & Exercise Science, Nitec in Fitness Training, or equivalent certifications such as ACE-CPT, FISAF, or Fitness Instructor Certification (FIC).
- A minimum of one (1) year of proven experience in a related field.
- Valid Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR) and Automated External Defibrillator (AED) certification, along with Standard First Aid.
- Additional fitness-related certifications will be considered an advantage.
- Ability to commit to shift schedules, including weekends and public holidays.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Solid knowledge of exercise techniques, safety, and injury prevention.
- Enthusiastic, reliable, and team-oriented approach.
