Responsibilities

• Inspect construction sites regularly to identify and mitigate potential safety hazards, ensuring a safe working environment
• Lead and supervise construction teams and subcontractors to maintain high standards of safety and operational efficiency
• Educate site workers on construction safety regulations and accident protocols to promote compliance and reduce incidents
• Enforce site safety rules consistently to minimize work-related accidents and injuries
• Manage site accident responses in accordance with established protocols to ensure proper handling and reporting
• Maintain accurate attendance records for construction employees to support workforce management
• Evaluate employee performance and implement disciplinary measures to uphold team accountability and productivity
• Analyze blueprints to verify that construction projects comply with design, safety, and budget specifications
• Recommend operational or procedural changes to improve construction efficiency and safety outcomes

Required competencies and certifications

• Completion of a post-secondary education construction training program
• Proven experience working as a site supervisor
• CPR and first aid certifications
• Sound knowledge of building codes and construction safety regulations
• Working knowledge of construction tools and equipment
• Ability to interpret blueprints

Preferred competencies and qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in construction management, construction science, civil engineering, or a related field
