Horticulturist

Job Summary

We are seeking a dedicated Horticulturist to oversee the health, appearance, and maintenance of indoor and outdoor landscapes. The role requires strong horticultural knowledge, attention to plant aesthetics, problem-solving skills, and the ability to work closely with clients and landscape maintenance teams. Knowledge on Autocad, able to design will be an advantage.

Key Responsibilities

• Visit nurseries and select suitable plants based on site conditions, design requirements, and client expectations.
• Maintain high aesthetic standards for indoor plants and landscape displays.
• Diagnose plant diseases, pest issues, and nutrient deficiencies, and recommend effective treatment solutions.
• Conduct site inspections and provide technical horticultural advice.
• Prepare and submit professional reports and recommendations to clients.
• Address client needs promptly and provide practical landscape solutions.
• Monitor and control monthly maintenance contract budgets.
• Work collaboratively with landscape maintenance crews to ensure quality service delivery.
• Support planning, scheduling, and quality control of landscape maintenance activities.
• Stay updated with industry developments and adapt to changing landscape requirements.

Requirements

• ITE NITEC, Diploma or Degree in Horticulture, Landscape Management, or a related field.
• Experience in horticulture, landscape maintenance, or plant care.
• Strong knowledge of plant identification, plant health, and pest and disease management.
• Excellent attention to detail, particularly in indoor plant presentation and aesthetics.
• Good report-writing, communication, and client management skills.
• Strong problem-solving and organizational abilities.
• Ability to manage budgets and work effectively in a team environment.
• Willingness to learn, adapt, and thrive in a fast-paced, evolving industry.
