Data Operations Engineer

About the role

We are looking for an ambitious, high-energy Data Operations Engineer to join our team in Singapore. We want someone with strong views on how things should work — and the technical ability and determination to make it happen. The ideal candidate looks at repetitive manual work and sees a problem to eliminate, not a process to tolerate. They are self-starting and relentless about improvement, with an infectious energy that pushes the team forward and brings people along with them. They push the boundaries of what can be automated, communicate openly across regions, and take genuine ownership of shaping how we operate.

Our Singapore team own the quality, reliability and observability of the thousands of data pipelines that drive investment decisions and facilitate critical operations, working closely with Data Engineering across all regions. The team builds and evolves the monitoring platform, drives automation that eliminates manual work, and is leveraging AI to step forward our data quality and support capabilities. The role is fast-moving and varied, with real scope to make our business fundamentally more resilient and enable a high velocity of change.

Your responsibilities

• Taking responsibility for data quality,monitoring, and anomaly detection.
• Digging into and exploring data; identifying features and issues; and communicating them to others clearly and concisely.
• Standardisation and development of monitoring methodologies, systems, tools and libraries, and promoting those standards toother teams across the firm.
• Automating and improving processes — identifying and eliminating manual support work through self-healing systems, better tooling, and pushing for changes that improve resilience and reliability.
• Taking a data-driven approach to operational improvements — measuring system health, tracking incident trends, and using evidence to guide priorities.
