About this job

Maintain ISM/ISPS/MLC documentation valid for assigned vessels, i.e. internal audits, external audits, and other documentation related to ISM/ISPS/MLC certification.

• Attend fleet vessels as required for audit/inspections and report to the management.

• Keep all charterers' inspections valid for assigned vessels (SIRE, CDI, NON-SIRE, Terminal inspections).

• Prepare response for observations during 3rd party inspections and PSC deficiencies and follow up till satisfactory resolution.

• Respond to all charterers' queries/questionnaires for the assigned vessel promptly.

• Responsible for keeping updated assigned vessels HVPQ, Q88, Crew matrix, etc., with the assistance of safety executives.

• Overview of the cargo operations to include meeting with the agents, terminal staff, receivers, shippers and local/national authorities as required and when the opportunity arises.

• To actively develop and deliver environmental and quality policies to the Master, Officers and crew and to ensure, through education, training and influence, that the seafarers are motivated to comply.

• To monitor the office and shipboard marine, safety and quality issues and to check the status of all reported deficiencies. To give the Master the necessary assistance and guidance to rectify these deficiencies.

• Assist the Master and crew in safely conducting tank cleaning and cargo operations. Review tank cleaning and cargo operation plans as necessary and provide technical advice to the Master. Ensure the vessel complies with the charterers' voyage orders regarding cargo custody by reviewing various reports.

• Involved in on-board crew training, waiting/refresher crew training as required.

• Performance Appraisal of Senior Officers for assigned vessels.

• Act as the commercial operator’s interface as required on all cargo, marine and operational matters.

• Review various reports from vessels and provide feedback to the Master when required (i.e., SQC, Training, drill, Risk Assessment, MOC, permit to work, critical operations, etc.).

• Contribute fully to the investigation of incidents, accidents, non-conformity reports, and near-miss reports on assigned vessels to establish the direct and root causes.

• Act as a member of the Emergency Response Team during an emergency.

Additional Requirements:

COC Class 1 as a Deck Officer with

1) At least 1 year as a sailing Master of a tanker, preferably chemical,

OR

2) With a minimum of 2 years as superintendent or related superintendence activities.


COC Class 2 as a Deck Officer with

1) With a minimum of 2 years’ experience as a deck officer

AND

2) With a minimum of 2 years as superintendent or related superintendence activities, preferably in a senior role.
