Civil & Structural Project Engineer

Ong Teng Chong Building Contractor Pte Ltd is seeking a skilled Civil & Structural Project Engineer to join our dynamic team. In this key role, you will oversee the planning, design, and execution of civil and structural engineering projects, ensuring high-quality delivery within scope, budget, and schedule. You will collaborate closely with our project management, design, and construction teams to drive project success and contribute to the company’s strategic growth.

Key Responsibilities:

• Lead the planning, design, and execution of civil and structural engineering projects from concept to successful completion.
• Support structural design and develop framing plans to meet project requirements.
• Guide design engineers in civil, structural, and geotechnical work, providing technical expertise and oversight.
• Supervise drafting teams to ensure drawing quality, accuracy, and compliance with standards.
• Ensure compliance with Workplace Safety and Health (WSH) regulations and all applicable authority requirements.
• Prepare, review, and approve engineering designs, drawings, and specifications.
• Coordinate with consultants, contractors, and stakeholders to ensure project compliance with technical, safety, and regulatory standards.
• Monitor project progress, budgets, and schedules, identifying and mitigating risks proactively.
• Provide technical guidance and mentorship to project team
• Support continuous improvement initiatives to enhance project efficiency and quality.
• Undertake ad-hoc duties assigned by Project Manager related to project execution

Requirements and skills

• Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering , Structural Engineering or a related field
• Minimum of 8-10 years proven experience in managing civil and structural engineering projects.
• Strong knowledge of construction methods, materials, and engineering principles.
• Proficiency in engineering software and tools (e.g., AutoCAD, STAAD Pro, Revit).
• Excellent communication, problem-solving, and project management skills.
• Experience in concrete and steel structure design, as well as temporary works design.
• Thorough knowledge of local codes of practice, URA regulations, and other regulatory requirements for submissions to authorities.
