Job Summary:
We are seeking a driven, commercially minded Commercial Executive / Junior Trader to join an established global agrifood platform.
Reporting directly to the Desk Head, you will play a key role in expanding physical trade flows and market coverage for agriculture products (specifically cocoa powder and derivatives) across key regional markets. This role is ideal for a junior commercial candidate or boutique hedging specialist looking to transition onto a major, asset-backed physical commodity trading platform with multi-product scope.
Key Responsibilities:
- Market Execution & Physical Trading: Support daily physical trade execution, order matching, and contract management for cocoa powder and related agrifood commodities across Asia-Pacific and international markets
- Commercial & Client Coverage: Maintain and grow relationships with industrial food manufacturers, FMCG buyers, trade houses, and regional distributors
- Risk & Position Management: Monitor market dynamics, futures pricing, basis spreads, and currency/hedging movements to manage commercial desk risk
- Supply Chain Collaboration: Work closely with global asset teams, shipping/logistics desks, and trade finance to ensure seamless physical delivery and contract fulfillment
- Market Intelligence: Gather regional supply-demand insights, track regulatory changes in key sourcing markets, and identify arbitrage or expansion opportunities
Requirements:
- Bachelor’s Degree in Business, Economics, International Trade, Supply Chain, or a related discipline
- Minimum 2 to 5 years of commercial, trading, or account management experience within physical agricultural commodities, food ingredients, or soft commodity markets (Cocoa, Sugar, Grains, or Edible Oils preferred)
- Good understanding of physical commodity flows, trade execution, and basic hedging/derivatives principles. Prior exposure to cocoa powder or industrial food ingredients is an advantage
- Strong analytical skills, numerical acumen, and comfortable managing commercial deal flows with international buyers and suppliers
- Excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to manage diverse external stakeholders and navigate multi-market regulatory environments
