Client Advisor, Private Bank

Client Acquisition and Relationship Management

● Proactively identify and acquire new high-net-worth clients through effective networking, referrals, and business development initiatives.

● Cultivate and nurture long-term, trusted relationships with existing clients, serving as their primary point of contact for all financial needs.

● Conduct regular reviews with clients to assess their changing financial circumstances, goals, and risk profiles.

● Ensure a high level of client satisfaction and retention through personalized service and proactive engagement.

Financial Advisory and Solution Provision

● Conduct comprehensive financial needs assessments to understand clients' unique requirements, challenges, and aspirations.

● Provide expert advice on a wide range of private banking products and services, including:

○ Investment Management: Asset allocation, portfolio construction, equity, fixed income, alternative investments, and structured products.

○ Wealth Planning: Estate planning, succession planning, tax efficient strategies, and philanthropy.

○ Credit and Lending: Customized borrowing solutions, including mortgages, secured and unsecured loans.

○ Banking Services: Deposit solutions, foreign exchange, and treasury products.

● Collaborate with internal specialists (e.g., Investment Counsellors, Financial Planners, Credit Specialists) to deliver holistic and integrated wealth management solutions.

● Stay abreast of market trends, economic indicators, and regulatory changes to provide timely and relevant advice to clients.

Portfolio Management and Performance Monitoring

● Develop and implement tailored investment strategies that align with clients' risk tolerance and financial objectives.

● Regularly monitor and review client portfolios, making adjustments as necessary to optimize performance and mitigate risks.

● Prepare and present detailed reports on portfolio performance and market outlook to clients.

Risk Management and Compliance

● Ensure all client interactions and transactions comply with internal policies, regulatory guidelines, and ethical standards (e.g., AML, KYC).

● Maintain accurate and up-to-date client records and documentation.

● Act as a role model for business ownership and responsibility for risk management.

Team Collaboration and Business Growth

● Contribute to the overall profitability and growth targets of HLB Private Bank.

● Foster a collaborative environment within the team and with other departments to deliver the bank's overall value proposition to clients.

● Identify and pursue cross-selling opportunities within the existing client base.

Managerial (team/group responsibilities)

· Provide overall leadership, direction and coaching to the Client Advisor to achieve the agreed business and financial objectives

· Provide guidance and support on client engagement, investment solutions, credit structuring and business development

· Support the Client Advisor in managing key client relationships and developing strategic business opportunities.

· Provide appropriate oversight of the Client Advisor’s compliance with the bank’s policies, procedures, risk appetite and applicable regulatory requirements

· Identify and support the Client Advisor’s training, development and career progression needs

Education/ Qualification

• Bachelor’s degree holder and above in Business, Investment Banking, Accounting, Finance or equivalent.

Experience

• 5 years and above experience in private banking / wealth management

Special Skills

· Proven sales leadership and a robust client referral network

Certification/ Licensing Requirements

· Client Advisor Competency Standards (CACS)
