GENERAL DESCRIPTION

Support end-to-end ownership of a critical corporate application platform, serving as a key technical contributor under the Application Responsible (AR) and in close collaboration with the Product Owner (PO). Take an active role in evolving enterprise software systems through robust development practices, architectural improvements, and solid operational stewardship—within a secure, regulated banking environment.

This position demands a blend of deep technical expertise, process awareness, and accountability, Application Responsible duties. The ideal candidate brings proven experience in enterprise system ownership and is committed to delivering stable, scalable, and compliant solutions.

CORE RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Act as a primary technical point of contact (SPOC) for assigned applications, leading development, change implementation, incident resolution, and stakeholder coordination.
  • Analyse and evolve application architecture to improve simplicity, performance, and independence from external dependencies—enabling faster delivery and reduced operational risk.
  • Evaluate opportunities to insource peripheral components or interfaces, expanding team ownership and accelerating time-to-market.
  • Coordinate with internal stakeholders and third-party vendors, aligning delivery plans with roadmap priorities and compliance obligations.
  • Monitor and continuously improve service levels relating to availability, responsiveness, capacity, and knowledge management.
  • Support risk and control processes including access reviews, audit responses, vulnerability remediation, and annual risk assessments.
  • Track and drive resolution of technical debt items in line with business impact, compliance needs, and development capacity.
  • Ensure application designs comply with the bank’s architecture standards in collaboration with the System Architect and Development Lead.
  • Contribute to and maintain Project Methodology documentation and related review processes.
  • Drive ‘shift-left’ practices, enforcing unit/automated testing, CI/CD compliance, and code quality.
  • Support the formulation and execution of the application’s technical roadmap.
  • Manage full application lifecycle, including releases, updates, and decommissioning.
  • Advise Product Owners and project teams on technical risks and mitigation strategies.

REQUIRED EXPERIENCE & TECHNICAL SKILLS

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Information Technology, or a related discipline.
  • Prior experience in an Application Responsible or similarly accountable role—or clear progression toward such responsibility—is essential. This includes ownership of production systems, participation in incident/change management, and direct interface with business users or control functions.
  • Sound understanding of solution architecture principles, including system context diagrams, integration models, and separation of concerns.
  • Proven ability to diagnose complex technical issues and implement effective, long-term resolutions with minimal supervision.
  • Familiarity with Agile methodologies (Scrum, Kanban) and DevOps practices, including Git-based version control, CI/CD pipelines, automated builds, and release management. Agile-related certifications are a plus.
  • Background in banking or wealth management operations is highly beneficial, especially exposure to governance, compliance, or legal entity management processes.
  • Experience or familiarity with developing and supporting native mobile applications for iOS and Android, with awareness of platform-specific best practices and security considerations.
