The Strategy & Transformation Office is responsible for driving UOI’s transformation strategy and execution. This spans a range of projects and initiatives across the company, including process improvement, technology delivery, business strategy and Artificial Intelligence (“AI”) solutions.
Main Responsibilities
- Identify opportunities in Artificial Intelligence solutions that impact the company’s strategic growth initiatives across systems, processes, sales and culture
- Plan, setup and execute the AI roadmap and initiatives – ranging from assessing opportunity, scoping requirements, conducting RFP, managing delivery to post go live support and ongoing enhancements
- Teamwork with fellow project managers, business analysts, developers, testers, users and other stakeholders and be accountable for overall delivery of the AI initiatives within budget, scope and timelines
- Be the bridge between STO/IT teams and business users/senior management, advising AI development in the industry as well as execution progress
- Manage project risks and issues to ensure optimal delivery, including proactively identifying and solving problems and change management
- Maintaining internal and external customer satisfaction through the projects and initiatives
- Manage resource allocation, project burn rates and budgets on an on-going weekly, monthly, and quarterly basis
- Manage vendors, including SOW development and change requests
- Setup programme governance, frameworks and documentation
- Contribute to a positive team environment and company culture aligned with our Core Values
- Collaborate with Reporting Managers on AI strategy in the company, factoring in related transformation initiatives
- Take on other projects or tasks that may be assigned by Reporting Managers
Requirements
- Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science or Information Technology or equivalent
- At least 8+ years of experience in managing complex system modernization or system implementation or replacement projects as a delivery manager or project manager
- Strong project management (waterfall/agile), change management (people side of change/projects) and facilitation skills
- Strong delivery manager with embedded governance discipline, ensuring all transformation. initiatives are executed in compliance with formal change control, project governance frameworks, and regulatory expectations
- Experience managing multiple vendors and multiple projects/workstreams with strong stakeholder engagement
- Good understanding of technologies and best practices: AI, Cloud, DevSecOps, CI/CD, API and microservices, etc
- Good understanding of the technology landscape that is applicable for general insurers in Singapore along with regulatory requirements and insurance industry trends in general
- Excellent interpersonal, influencing and negotiation skills with demonstrated experience engaging and influencing senior stakeholders and vendors to influence and achieve optimal business outcomes
- Excellent oral and written communication
- Excellent people skills and comfort in meeting and presenting to a range of stakeholders from C-suite to junior developers
