Laser Welding Engineer

Responsibilities

• Set up and operate the laser welding robot according to Work Orders and predefined programs
• Develop programs and setup plans for the laser welding robot for both existing and new products
• Edit tool and weld paths directly from the machine’s software
• Advise and collaborate with Engineering/Work Preparation teams to optimize the production process
• Participate closely in the design and fabrication of welding jigs and support re-engineering efforts to ensure product suitability for laser welding automation
• Perform daily maintenance on machines, fixtures, and tools
• Report and call Maintenance/Technical Service for any equipment malfunctions
• Ensure safe working practices for oneself and others
• Perform all other related production tasks as required
• Discuss work progress and program discrepancies with the Engineering department
• Coordinate with colleagues regarding priority tasks
• Create programs for the laser welding machine and welding robot using dedicated software

Requirements

• Diploma or bachelor’s degree in engineering Mechanical/Mechatronics) or equivalent
• Minimum 1 year of experience in the sheet metalworking industry (preferred)
• Knowledge of robot operation and programming (KUKA/ABB preferred)
• Knowledge of MIG, TIG, and laser welding processes
