Job Summary
The Primary Teacher delivers engaging, student-centred instruction to primary students, fostering their academic, social, emotional, and character development while upholding Sri Sathya Sai Global School’s educational values and maintaining a safe, inclusive learning environment.
Responsibilities
- Plan, prepare, and deliver structured lessons aligned with the school’s curriculum and learning objectives
- Teach assigned primary-level subjects according to the school timetable and staffing needs
- Apply age-appropriate and differentiated teaching strategies to meet diverse learning abilities and needs
- Facilitate conceptual understanding, critical thinking, creativity, communication, and problem-solving through interactive classroom activities
- Design and implement hands-on activities, projects, discussions, and collaborative learning experiences
- Integrate Education in Human Values (Truth, Right Conduct, Peace, Love, Non-Violence) into teaching and classroom interactions
- Develop lesson plans, teaching materials, worksheets, assignments, and other instructional resources
- Assess student learning regularly using classwork, homework, projects, observations, tests, and examinations
- Maintain accurate records of student academic performance, attendance, and progress
- Identify students needing additional academic support and provide targeted interventions or reinforcement
- Manage classroom discipline effectively using positive and respectful behaviour-management techniques
- Ensure students’ physical and emotional safety and well-being during supervision
- Communicate student progress and improvement areas to parents through meetings, reports, and approved channels
- Participate actively in Parent-Teacher Meetings and academic discussions concerning students
- Collaborate with teachers, subject coordinators, and school leadership on curriculum planning and academic enhancement
- Support examination processes including invigilation, marking, and report preparation
- Contribute to school programmes such as assemblies, celebrations, field trips, competitions, and co-curricular activities
- Perform supervision duties during arrival, dismissal, recess, and other assigned times
- Maintain a clean, organised, and stimulating classroom environment
- Attend staff meetings, professional development, training sessions, and school events as required
- Adhere to school policies on safeguarding, student welfare, confidentiality, health and safety, attendance, and professional conduct
- Execute other reasonable teaching or school-related duties assigned by the Principal or Management
Preferred competencies and qualifications
- Teaching qualification, diploma, or certification in Education
- Previous primary school teaching experience
- Knowledge of child development and primary teaching methodologies
- Proficiency in using technology and digital resources for teaching and classroom administration
