Preschool English Teacher
About this job
We are looking for a warm,attentive Preschool English Teacher to guide young children through their earliest learning experiences. The role combines hands-on classroom teaching with the everyday care, supervision, and encouragement that help children feel safe,curious, and ready to grow — both inside the classroom and as part of the wider school community.
As Preschool Teacher, you will:
• Ensure the safety of the class and effective classroommanagement, teaching in accordance with the school's agreed policies and guidelines.
• Use a variety of appropriate teaching and caregivingmethods to ensure high-quality learning takes place; experience in inquiry-based teaching is a plus.
• Submit weekly updates and portfolios as per theschool's requirements.
• Ensure equal opportunities are provided for allchildren.
• Encourage children to take pride in their environmentand to show respect and concern for others, contributing to the school as acaring community.
• Take responsibility for all aspects of classroommanagement, including care of equipment, well-labelled and accessibleresources, and maintaining a tidy, well-organised room.
• Create an interesting and lively classroom thatpromotes independent learning.
• Build positive relationships with the parents/guardiansof children in your care, and collaborate with them to enhance each child'slearning experience and growth.
• Supervise children during meals, rest/nap time, anddaily routines, looking after their hygiene, safety, and wellbeing throughoutthe day.
• Observe and record each child's developmental progressand milestones, sharing updates with parents and the Principal as needed.
• Respect and value each child's social, cultural, andreligious background, modelling mutual respect and tolerance by example.
• Collaborate with staff on long-term planning.
• Lead and help with school events.
• Share in the management and delivery of assemblies.
• Share your expertise with colleagues.
• Participate in appraisal procedures and in-service training to support your personal, professional, and career development.
