Role Purpose
The Program Director isresponsible for the business development, packaging and commercial readiness ofthe company's high-containment (ABSL-3 / BSL-3) laboratory services, withactive participation industry events/global contacts.
Key Responsibilities
Programme Management & Commercial Packaging
- Package the company's offerings and ensure their commercial readiness across ABSL-3/BSL-3 offerings
- Develop the catalogue of service offerings in conjunction with the relevant Facility Director and the Commercial team
- Have pipeline of potential candidates to use the ABSL-3 lab.
Laboratory Services (ABSL-3 / BSL-3)
- Build and convert a pipeline of ABSL-3 / BSL-3 contracts across pharmaceutical, biotechnology, government and academic sponsors, and private and commercial project requirements proof of concept and execute.
- Identify new opportunities and represent the company's high-containment capabilities to prospective clients
- Prepare technical and scientific proposals and study designs to support bids and tenders
- Work with the Commercial team, who lead pricing, quotation and contract negotiation
- Manage sponsor and client relationships as the lead scientific point of contact
- Represent the company at conferences, with licensing bodies and other stakeholders
- Develop and oversee preclinical study protocols, including in-vivo challenge and efficacy models where applicable
- Provide oversight and maintain scientific quality across projects
- Ensure data integrity across validation, curation and sponsor reporting
- Conduct or support laboratory work within ABSL-3 / BSL-3 containment as project needs require
- Contribute to the safe and efficient running of high-containment studies alongside the facility and biosafety teams
- Conduct training, and manage conference planning for both Asia Pacific and global events. Can package training/skills update sessions, knowledge sharing/certification.
Required Qualifications & Experience
- PhD (or equivalent) in microbiology, virology, immunology, biomedical sciences or a related field
- Minimum 10+ years of relevant experience in industry, well respected and connected who has the network of researchers/operators.
- Demonstrated leadership of successful research programmes in infectious disease or another area requiring ABSL-3 / BSL-3 containment
- Client-facing, communication and networking skills
- Able to meet the medical-surveillance and personal protective equipment (PPE) requirements of high-containment work, including respirator fit-testing
- Good communication, both written and spoken English is required
- Hands-on experience with pathogens and ABSL-3 / BSL-3 work
- Experience with in-vivo / animal models
- Able to write cases, justification for the proposal of labs to client, benchmarking to other labs. Some knowledge of the landscape is critical.
- Got to have experience working with our Advisory Board and vendors.
- Vetting through technical requirements for lab operations and handle lab operations from initiation to delivery of projects
