MetaComp is a high-growth digital payments and financial technology company headquartered in Singapore. We provide financial infrastructure and payment solutions across digital payments, cross-border payments, digital assets, FX, card services, embedded finance and related financial services.

As we continue to expand our business and regional footprint, we are looking for a Paralegal to join our Legal team and provide high-quality legal and operational support across the organisation.

About the Role

The Paralegal will work closely with the Legal team and internal stakeholders to support day-to-day legal matters, contract management, corporate administration, regulatory documentation and legal research.

This is a hands-on role suited to someone who is highly organised, detail-oriented and commercially minded, with an interest in fintech, payments, financial services and technology.

Key Responsibilities

1. Contract & Legal Documentation

  • Assist the Legal team with the preparation, review and management of commercial agreements and legal documents.
  • Support the review of standard agreements, NDAs, service agreements, vendor agreements, partnership agreements and other commercial contracts.
  • Maintain contract templates and ensure appropriate version control.
  • Track contract status, renewals, obligations and key deadlines.
  • Assist with contract execution and maintain an organised central repository of legal documents.
  • Coordinate with internal stakeholders and external counterparties on documentation and execution matters.

2. Corporate & Entity Management

  • Support the Legal team with corporate secretarial and entity management matters.
  • Maintain corporate records, registers, resolutions and other statutory documentation.
  • Assist with preparation and coordination of board and shareholder resolutions.
  • Support incorporation, restructuring, changes in directors/shareholders and other corporate actions where required.
  • Coordinate with external corporate secretarial providers and legal counsel.

3. Regulatory & Compliance Support

  • Assist with legal and regulatory documentation relating to MetaComp's payment, financial services and digital asset businesses.
  • Support the Legal and Compliance teams with regulatory filings, licences, applications and supporting documentation.
  • Conduct research on applicable laws, regulations and regulatory guidance.
  • Assist in maintaining records relating to regulatory obligations and legal requirements.
  • Support responses to regulatory or audit requests where required.

4. Legal Research & Analysis

  • Conduct legal research on Singapore and relevant international laws and regulations.
  • Research legal and regulatory developments affecting payments, fintech, digital assets, cross-border payments and financial services.
  • Prepare research summaries, legal updates and briefing materials for the Legal team.
  • Assist lawyers with preliminary legal analysis and document review.

5. Legal Operations

  • Maintain and organise the Legal team's document management system and legal databases.
  • Track legal matters, deadlines, renewals and outstanding actions.
  • Assist in preparing legal reports and management updates.
  • Support the implementation and improvement of legal processes and workflows.
  • Identify opportunities to streamline legal operations through technology and automation.
  • Assist with legal spend tracking and coordination with external counsel.

6. Litigation & Dispute Support

  • Assist the Legal team with dispute, claims and litigation-related matters where required.
  • Organise relevant documents and evidence for legal matters.
  • Coordinate with external counsel and internal stakeholders on documentation and information requests.
  • Maintain records of ongoing and closed legal matters.

7. Cross-Functional Support

  • Work closely with Legal, Compliance, Finance, Product, Operations, Sales and other business teams.
  • Follow up with stakeholders to obtain required information and documentation.
  • Help business teams understand and follow established legal processes.
  • Support ad hoc legal and corporate projects as assigned.

Requirements

  • Diploma or Bachelor's degree in Law, Legal Studies, Business, or a related discipline.
  • 1 year of relevant paralegal, legal operations, legal executive or legal support experience.
  • Strong knowledge of legal documentation and contract management.
  • Good legal research and analytical skills.
  • Strong attention to detail and document management skills.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Strong organisational and time-management abilities.
  • Ability to manage multiple matters and deadlines simultaneously.
  • Comfortable working with confidential and sensitive information.
  • Proactive, resourceful and able to work independently in a fast-paced environment.
  • Strong proficiency in Microsoft Office / Google Workspace and legal documentation tools.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience in fintech, payments, financial services, digital assets, technology or a regulated business.
  • Experience supporting commercial contracts and corporate matters.
  • Familiarity with Singapore corporate and regulatory requirements.
  • Experience working with external legal counsel or corporate secretarial firms.
  • Experience with contract lifecycle management (CLM), legal databases or legal operations tools.
  • Familiarity with MAS-regulated businesses and Singapore's financial regulatory environment is an advantage.
  • Candidates with relevant paralegal, legal executive or legal operations qualifications are preferred.
