Job Summary
The Automation Engineer will design, configure, and implement Schneider Control Systems for industrial and process applications. This role includes developing control logic, commissioning, troubleshooting, and optimizing system performance to enhance safety, reliability and efficiency
Responsibilities
- Design, configure, and implement Schneider Control Systems including PLC, DDC, and SCADA solutions for industrial applications
- Develop and review control system logic to meet process requirements and ensure operational effectiveness
- Prepare detailed engineering documentation to support system design, testing, and commissioning
- Lead hardware engineering tasks including configuration, testing, and integration of control system components
- Perform software programming, installation, and testing of SCADA and automation systems to ensure functionality
- Integrate third-party systems using BAC net/IP, Modbus TCP/IP, and Ethernet TCP/IP protocols for seamless communication
- Design control system panels, select components, and conduct thorough testing to meet project specifications
- Execute on-site system installation, testing, commissioning, Factory Acceptance Testing (FAT), Site Acceptance Testing (SAT), and handover to clients
- Diagnose and troubleshoot control, electrical, and instrumentation system issues on-site to maintain system reliability
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams and clients during technical reviews and project execution to ensure compliance with standards
- Support preventive maintenance and system upgrade projects to optimize performance and safety
- Apply knowledge of electrical and instrumentation systems related to automation processes during integration and support activities
Requiredcompetencies and certifications
- Proven expertise in engineering, testing, and on-site commissioning of Schneider PLC systems, preferably SpaceLogic™ series
- Hands-on experience with EcoStruxure Building Operation, Historian, BACnet/IP, Modbus, Ethernet/IP, and OPC UA protocols
- Practical troubleshooting skills for automation, control, and electrical issues in industrial environments
- Ability to read electrical schematics, understand panel design, and work with EC&I systems
- Effective communication skills in English for documentation and reporting
- Capability to work on-site at client facilities and collaborate in multidisciplinary teams
Preferredcompetencies and qualifications
- Experience (3-6 yrs) in BMS project engineering and commissioning, preferably in the Pharmaceutical Industry
- Familiarity with industrial communication protocols and relevant international standards (e.g., IEC, ISO)
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent in Electrical Engineering, Control/Automation Engineering, Mechatronics, or related discipline
