FI Loans & Trade Finance Associate

Job Responsibilities

• Support the Financial Institutions (FI) business and daily operations.
• Process and monitor loan & Trade finance based FI transactions.
• End to end process and documentation on FI products.
• Liaise with Shinhan Korea Head office, internal stakeholders, relationship managers, legal teams, and external counterparties.
• Ensure transactions comply with internal policies, regulatory requirements, and risk controls.
• KYC/AML documentation and periodic reviews.
• FI credit evaluation.
• Support Korean corporate/FI clients and facilitate communication in Korean and English.
• Assist in reporting, reconciliations, and audit requests.
• Participate in policy & process improvement initiatives and system enhancements.

Requirements

• High level of proficiency in Korean and English (spoken and written) to support Korean-speaking clients and stakeholders.
• Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Banking, Business, Economics, or related disciplines.
• 2–5 years of experience in Banking industry (Loans and Trade finance background preferred).
• Experience in bilateral loans, syndicated loans, or agency functions preferred.
• Familiarity with Documentary Letter of Credit, Loan and SWIFT operation is advantageous.
• Good understanding of banking operations, compliance, and risk controls.
• Strong attention to detail and ability to work under tight deadlines.
• Good communication and stakeholder management skills.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office applications.
