Data Engineer (Junior Level)

Job Summary

Support the operation, maintenance, and development of the company’s overseas data warehouse by building ETL/ELT pipelines, applying data modeling and mining techniques, and delivering actionable insights through data analytics and visualization.

Responsibilities

• Operate, maintain, and develop the company’s overseas data warehouse for mobile device, IoT, and app data domains
• Develop and implement data processing techniques and analytics applications to convert raw data into actionable insights
• Build and maintain ETL/ELT pipelines using data-oriented programming languages such as Python and SQL
• Apply data modeling and data mining techniques to process structured and semi-structured datasets effectively
• Analyze large datasets to generate insights that support overseas business operations
• Create data visualizations and reports using BI or visualization tools like Tableau or Power BI
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to gather data requirements and support analytics use cases
• Participate in testing, deployment, and monitoring of data workflows to ensure reliability and performance

Required competencies and certifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Data Science, or a related field
• 0–3 years of experience in data engineering, data analytics, or a related role
• Proficiency in SQL and at least one programming language such as Python, Java, or Scala
• Familiarity with big data frameworks such as Hadoop, Spark, or Flink
• Basic understanding of data modeling and data warehousing concepts

Preferred competencies and qualifications

• Exposure to data visualization tools such as Tableau or Power BI
• Basic knowledge of data mining or machine learning concepts
• Good communication and teamwork skills
• Mandarin proficiency
