Head of English

An established international education institution in Singapore is looking for an experienced English educator to take on a departmental leadership role. The position combines teaching, curriculum development and academic leadership, with a particular focus on supporting students from international and multilingual backgrounds.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead the delivery and continuous improvement of the school's English academic programme.
• Guide curriculum planning, assessments and teaching strategies to strengthen student English proficiency and academic outcomes.
• Support and mentor English teachers, promoting consistent teaching standards and best practices.
• Track student progress and work with teachers to identify and address learning gaps.
• Partner with the academic leadership team on department planning, teaching quality and academic initiatives.

Requirements

• Degree in English, Education or a relevant discipline, with a strong academic and teaching background.
• Around 7+ years of English teaching experience, ideally within an international, secondary or academically structured school environment.
• Strong experience teaching international / multilingual learners, including strategies for improving English proficiency.
• Exposure to curriculum development, assessment, teacher mentoring or academic leadership; IELTS or similar examination knowledge is advantageous.
• Strong communication and leadership capabilities, with the ability to develop both students and fellow educators.
