Key responsibilities
Client relationship and portfolio leadership
- Act as the senior day-to-day relationship lead for an assigned portfolio, building trusted relationships with HR, Finance and senior stakeholders.
- Own the client service plan, renewal calendar, governance rhythm, deliverables, and escalation management for each account.
- Lead renewal strategy discussions, translating client objectives, workforce needs, claims experience and budget considerations into a clear market approach.
- Coordinate placement, insurer engagement, negotiation, implementation and ongoing servicing, ensuring timely and accurate delivery.
- Identify opportunities to strengthen programme design, employee experience, administration and cost efficiency while supporting strong retention and sustainable portfolio growth.
- Oversee complex service or claims escalations, working with internal teams and insurers to achieve clear, well-documented outcomes.
Analytics and consulting
- Analyze claims, utilization, loss ratios, premium movement, employee demographics and benefit design to identify trends, risks and practical opportunities.
- Prepare and present clear renewal reports, programme reviews, benchmarking and executive-ready recommendations that convert data into decisions.
- Advise on plan design, benefit adequacy, market competitiveness, cost-containment options, insurer strategy and implementation considerations.
- Challenge incomplete or inconsistent data, establish sound assumptions and maintain a clear audit trail for calculations and recommendations.
- Contribute to the development of repeatable consulting methodologies, templates and reporting standards across the Employee Benefits practice.
Business development and market engagement
- Partner with the Head of Employee Benefits on prospect acquisition, discovery meetings, tenders, proposals and pitches.
- Assess prospect needs and help shape a differentiated proposition, service model, programme strategy and commercial approach.
- Identify cross-sell and referral opportunities within existing relationships and across the wider business and partner network.
- Maintain strong working relationships with insurers, providers and market partners; remain current on products, pricing, underwriting practices and market developments.
- Support pipeline discipline by maintaining accurate opportunity, activity and forecast information in the relevant systems.
Regional coordination and multinational programmes
- Coordinate selected multi-country assignments using a Singapore-led relationship model and trusted in-country partners.
- Establish clear governance, renewal calendars, responsibilities, reporting standards and escalation routes across participating markets.
- Consolidate country information into regional reporting and provide practical insights on programme consistency, local relevance, costs and emerging risks.
- Support feasibility reviews and client discussions relating to multinational pooling, regional portfolio solutions and other potential financing or purchasing efficiencies.
- Work effectively across time zones and cultures while maintaining accountability for regional deliverables.
Risk, compliance and operational discipline
- Conduct business in accordance with applicable legal, regulatory and company requirements, acting in the best interests of clients and the company.
- Ensure advice, instructions, quotations, negotiations, confirmations, evidencing of cover and material communications are complete, accurate and appropriately recorded.
- Maintain orderly and up-to-date client files and support the safeguarding of client monies in line with company procedures.
- Escalate potential errors and omissions, breaches, complaints, disputes, conflicts or matters that may expose the company to legal or regulatory action promptly.
- Collaborate with Operations, Finance, Compliance, Claims and other stakeholders to improve workflows and deliver a coordinated client experience.
- Provide guidance and quality review support to less-experienced colleagues where required, and deputize for the Head of Employee Benefits on agreed matters.
What you bring
Essential
- At least 7 years of relevant Employee Benefits broking, consulting or client management experience, with substantial exposure to the Singapore local market.
- Demonstrated ownership of complex client relationships, renewals, placement and insurer negotiations.
- Strong analytical capability, including confidence working with claims, utilization, premiums, loss ratios, employee census data and benchmarking.
- Consulting ability to diagnose issues, develop options and present evidence-based recommendations to senior client stakeholders.
- Commercial confidence in prospect meetings, proposals and pitches, with the ability to contribute to new-business conversion and portfolio growth.
- Excellent written and verbal communication, presentation and stakeholder-management skills.
- High standards of accuracy, organization, follow-through and regulatory awareness.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and PowerPoint, with the ability to produce clear, decision-ready analysis and presentations.
Highly desirable
- Experience coordinating employee benefits across multiple APAC markets.
- Working knowledge of multinational pooling, regional portfolio arrangements or global benefits governance.
- Experience with local insured medical, life, personal accident and related employee benefits programmes; exposure to local-plus or IPMI solutions is advantageous.
- Experience supporting benefit harmonization, programme benchmarking, claims analytics, benefit communication or change implementation.
- Relevant insurance or professional qualifications recognized in Singapore.
