Software Manager (Java/C++) - Public Sector

We are looking for an experienced Software Manager to lead a team of Software Engineers responsible for the development, enhancement, and support of mission-critical applications. The role combines technical leadership, software delivery, production support, and customer engagement throughout the full software lifecycle.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead and mentor a team of Software Engineers across development and support activities.

• Manage the full SDLC, including design, development, testing, deployment, and maintenance.

• Provide hands-on technical leadership, including code reviews, troubleshooting, debugging, and solution design.

• Enhance existing applications and drive improvements in performance, reliability, and maintainability.

• Manage production issues, perform impact analysis, and ensure resolution within agreed SLAs.

• Work closely with Solution Architects and project teams on system integration and technical implementation.

• Maintain technical documentation, operational procedures, and software quality standards.

• Engage customers proactively and ensure high-quality technical support and service delivery.

• Evaluate new technologies and recommend improvements to existing solutions.

• Support pre-sales activities and technical tender proposals where required.

Requirements

• Degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related discipline.

• Min 5 years of experience leading software engineering or application development teams.

• Strong software development experience with Java and/or C++.

• Experience working with Windows and Linux environments.

• Good knowledge of relational databases such as Microsoft SQL Server.

• Strong understanding of software engineering principles, algorithms, and data structures.
