PositionOverview

We are seeking a warm, energetic and responsible mentor to support a 14-year-old student attending an international school. The role focuses on companionship, academic supervision, schedule coordination and personal development. General household duties and specialist subject tutoring are NOT required.

Key Responsibilities

· Provide reliable, positive companionship and build a trusting relationship with clear professional boundaries.

· Guide the student to be respectful, considerate and responsible, while developing independence, self-discipline and good habits.

· Encourage the student to explore new knowledge, activities and practical life skills.

· Monitor the student’s safety and well-being, provide appropriate support and promptly report concerns to the parents.

· Supervise homework, revision and school assignments, and help manage schedules, activities and deadlines.

· Accompany the student to school, tuition, enrichment classes, sports, appointments and appropriate social activities.

· Coordinate transport and schedule changes with the family driver.

· Keep the parents informed of the student’s progress, conduct and any matters requiring attention, while maintaining strict confidentiality.

Requirements

· A recognised bachelor's degree; qualifications in Education, Psychology, Counselling, Child Development or a related field are preferred.

· Relevant experience in teaching, tutoring, student support, youth mentoring, international schools or enrichment education is preferred.

· Good spoken and written English and Chinese, as the role requires regular communication with the student and family in both languages.

· Warm, energetic, patient, mature, dependable and able to relate naturally to teenagers.

· Strong organisational and problem-solving skills, with the ability to remain firm and maintain professional boundaries when necessary.

Working Arrangement and Benefits

· This is a live-in position, working six days per week, with one rest day per week.

· Annual leave, medical leave and other applicable employment benefits will be provided.

The ideal candidate is approachable, composed and able to connect naturally with a teenager. The candidate should be supportive yet firm, and serve as a trustworthy, positive adult influence in the student's daily life.
