Front of House / Senior Bartender
About this job
Druggists has been in Jalan Besar since 2015 - a craft beer restaurant with 23 rotating taps, a full food menu, cocktails, and wines. Independent, dynamic and a little quirky.
We are looking for a senior FOH and bartender. This is a floor role - on your feet, behind the bar, in the room, every shift. You look after guests well and takegenuine ownership of how the team runs day to day.
What this role actually is
You will be the most experienced person on the floor on most shifts. That means guests will look for you, your team mates will look to you, and the quality of service on any given night starts and ends with you. We want someone who ‘gets’ what great hospitality feels like and can deliver it, day after day.
You are not crunching the numbers - that is handled elsewhere. But you are running the floor. You hold the standard, and you make sure the team around you is better for having worked with you.
This includes training the team well, ensuring standards are met consistently and developing our beverage (cocktail/ wine) programme.
What you will be doing
- Lead service across the floor - keep things moving, read the room, step in before a problem becomes one
- Deliver genuine great guest experiences - notice the table that has been waiting, remember what the regular drinks, handle a complaint without it becoming an event
- Train and guide the team - bring newer team members up, share what you know, hold people to a high standard
- Run the bar - craft beer, cocktails, wines, non-alcoholic builds, consistently and proficiently
- Develop and maintain the cocktail programme - recipes, standards, and ongoing refinement
- Manage the essentials - opening and closing activities, misen-place, accurate POS transactions
- Set high standards – never settling for mediocrity
- Monitor inventory and coordinate stock orders
- Ensure compliance with health, safety, and hygiene standards at all times
Who we are looking for
- Minimum 2 years FOH or bar experience in a restaurant or bar setting
- Craft beer, cocktail and wine knowledge is a strong advantage
- Able to lead a team by example
- Calm under pressure, honest when something goes wrong, solutions-focused
- Self-directed - you notice what needs doing and you do it without being prompted
- Highly fluent in spoken English
- Physically able to lift a 30L keg and stand for a full shift
- Available for a 5-day work week including weekends and public holidays
What working here looks like
The team is small. You will matter here in a way that is harder to feel at a bigger operation. Wetake product knowledge seriously - you will be trained, tasted, and expected tokeep learning. Public holidays worked are compensated with leave-in-lieu.
