Production Controller
About this job
Purpose: Responsible for supporting the day‑to‑day execution of Parts Fabrication Department (PFD) production order activities by coordinating shopfloor operations, monitoring production progress, and ensuring timely material availability. This role serves as the primary operational liaison on the manufacturing shopfloor, enabling disciplined production execution and providing structured feedback to the Production Planner to support effective planning, scheduling, and ERP-driven decision‑making
Key Area of Responsibilities:
- Production Scheduling: Develop and maintain optimized production schedules, adjusting as needed to meet demands and deadlines. Ensure timely and accurate release of production orders, coordinating with departments to resolve discrepancies.
- Production Shopfloor Control: Coordinate and monitor daily manufacturing and fabrication activities to ensure execution aligns with approved production plans, proactively identifying deviations, risks, or constraints and escalating issues as required.
- Material Coordination & Control: Manage end‑to‑end shopfloor material readiness, including warehouse transfers, material issuance and execution of material schedules to support uninterrupted manufacturing operations.
- Daily Production Meetings: Organize and chair daily shopfloor meetings to review production progress, material readiness and operational constraints, ensuring clear communication and follow‑up actions.
- Planning Interface Support: Provide structured daily updates on production status, material readiness, and operational risks to the Production Planner, supporting effective planning decisions and ERP-driven controls.
Requirements:
- Nitec/Diploma in Engineering/Materials/Supply Chain/Logistics/Industrial Engineering or other relevant discipline.
- Preferably 1 year of experience as controller in manufacturing industry or equivalent.
- Good communication & problem-solving skills
