Job Description:

CHEONG WOON CONSTRUCT PTE. LTD. is seeking an experienced and dynamic Chief Executive Officer (CEO) to lead the company’s strategic growth, business operations, and long-term development within Singapore’s construction industry.

The successful candidate will be responsible for overseeing overall business performance, developing corporate strategies, managing major projects, strengthening client relationships, and ensuring operational excellence across all departments.

KEY JOB REQUIREMENTS & NATURE OF WORK

• This is a senior executive position requiring full-time commitment to the overall operation and management of the company.

• The position is not limited to office-based or routine administrative duties. The successful candidate is expected to take an active role in the day-to-day management of the company.

• Responsible for overseeing maximum areas of company operations, including construction projects, manpower, procurement, business development, client management, subcontractors, financial performance and operational planning.

• Must be prepared to handle a demanding and high-responsibility workload, with the ability to make timely decisions under pressure.

• The role requires a high level of dedication, resilience, discipline and commitment due to the demanding nature of the construction industry.

• Must be willing to work according to project requirements and operational needs, including extended hours when necessary to resolve urgent business or project matters.

• Expected to personally monitor critical construction and operational matters and ensure that projects progress according to agreed schedules and requirements.

• Must be capable of managing multiple projects, teams and business priorities simultaneously.

• Responsible for responding to unexpected operational challenges, project delays, manpower issues, client requirements and other urgent matters.

• Must demonstrate strong leadership, problem-solving and decision-making abilities and be able to take responsibility for company-wide outcomes.

• The position requires an individual who is hardworking, proactive, highly responsible and capable of working independently with minimal supervision.

• Must be able to work effectively in a fast-paced, challenging and high-pressure environment.

• Strong commitment to achieving company targets, maintaining productivity and improving operational efficiency is essential.

• The successful candidate is expected to lead by example, support management and project teams, and take ownership of difficult operational situations.

• Because of the seniority and scope of the position, the candidate must be prepared to undertake complex, difficult and time-sensitive responsibilities beyond routine job functions when required for the proper operation of the company.

• The role carries significant responsibility for the company's overall business performance, project delivery, workforce management and future growth.

Requirements:

• Minimum 12 years of senior management or executive-level experience, preferably in the construction sector.

• Proven track record in business leadership, project management, and operational control.

• Strong knowledge of construction industry practices and corporate management.

• Excellent leadership, communication, negotiation, and decision-making skills.

• Ability to manage multiple projects and lead cross-functional teams effectively.

• Experience in strategic planning and business development is preferred.
