Job Summary
We are seeking an experienced Project Director to lead building construction projects from planning through completion, ensuring safe, timely, cost-effective delivery while maintaining quality and strong stakeholder relationships.
Responsibilities
- Lead building construction projects by setting clear direction and aligning teams to project goals
- Develop and manage detailed project plans to ensure timely execution and successful completion
- Monitor and control project schedule, costs, quality standards, and safety performance to meet targets
- Coordinate effectively with clients, consultants, authorities, subcontractors, and suppliers to facilitate smooth project delivery
- Lead multidisciplinary project teams including Project Managers, Engineers, Quantity Surveyors, and site personnel to optimize performance
- Review and approve construction programmes, budgets, resource allocation, and project deliverables for compliance and feasibility
- Track project progress and implement corrective actions promptly to address deviations or delays
- Identify, assess, and mitigate project risks, manage contractual issues, and resolve potential delays proactively
- Ensure full compliance with Building and Construction Authority (BCA) requirements, building regulations, workplace safety standards, and company policies
- Participate in project meetings and provide comprehensive progress reports to senior management
- Manage project variations, claims, procurement processes, and commercial matters to safeguard project interests
- Maintain thorough documentation, enforce quality control measures, and oversee timely project handover
- Drive continuous improvement initiatives to enhance project delivery efficiency, productivity, and construction processes
Required competencies and certifications
- Degree or higher qualification in Civil Engineering, Building, Construction Management, or related discipline
- Qualification recognized by the Building and Construction Authority (BCA), where applicable
- Minimum 8–10 years of relevant experience managing major building construction projects
- Strong knowledge of Singapore construction practices, regulations, and statutory requirements
- Proven leadership and project management skills with ability to lead multidisciplinary teams
- Proficient in project planning, cost control, contract management, quality assurance, and workplace safety
- Effective communication, coordination, and problem-solving abilities
Preferred competencies and qualifications
- Relevant professional certifications and/or recognized construction-related qualifications
