Job Summary

The Quality Control Technician will oversee quality processes for steel materials, perform inspections, collaborate on non-conformance resolution, and support corrective actions to ensure product compliance and customer satisfaction & audit.

Responsibilities

• Perform and sign off on incoming, in-process, and final inspections of raw materials (tubes and bars) following SAS procedures and work instructions
• Demonstrate competence in SAS material processes to apply quality control practices effectively
• Collaborate with the Regional Manager in Singapore and SAS Quality Management in Texas to address non-conformances and implement corrective actions
• Conduct visits to customer facilities to review and resolve quality issues when requested
• Report non-conformances accurately and ensure timely follow-up
• Verify calibration and proper functioning of inspection tools before use
• Assist with corrective action implementation and training related to quality processes as needed
• Use Portable Brinell hardness testers to perform hardness testing on materials
• Review Material Test Reports and certifications to confirm compliance with specifications
• Utilize dimensional measurement tools such as tape measures, micrometers, and calipers to assess product dimensions and tolerances

Preferred competencies and qualifications

• 2 to 5 years of experience in a quality role supporting oil and gas raw material handling, including bars, mechanical tubes, and OCTG tubing/casing
