BESS and SST REVENUE LEADER
About this job
About Kimbal
Kimbal is an Indian smart metering and energy intelligence company with a clear and ambitious vision: to become a global energy transition company. Built on a decade of deep expertise in Advanced Metering Infrastructure (AMI) — smart meters, mesh communication networks, and the Kimbal EI data platform — Kimbal is now expanding internationally and entering two new product verticals: Battery Energy Storage Systems (BESS) and Solid State Transformers (SST).
We operate across India, Singapore and Australia, planning to expand to Europe and US with a growing team of specialists across product, engineering, and commercial functions. We are pre-IPO, growing fast, and looking for people who want to build — not just advise.
This is a rare opportunity to join a company at the exact moment it is making the transition from 1 product, 1 country to a genuinely global, multi-product energy technology business.
The Role: BESS and SST Revenue LeaderLocation
Singapore (on-site)
Reports to
International President
Mandate
AMI International + BESS Business + SST Joint Lab
Experience
8–10 years post-MBA total experience
Start Date
1 October 2026 (target)
This is an execution-first role. You will own programmes, not presentations. You will be measured on pipelines built, milestones hit, and board memos that land without a revision request. And you will have a direct, explicit growth path to Business Owner (BESS or SST) within 18–24 months.
What You Will DoSST Programme — ERI@N Joint Lab and Kimbal SST product development
• Coordinate the SST joint lab programme with ERI@N (NTU) and SST Product Owner, Kimbal SG — meeting cadence, term sheet milestones, working group outputs
• Support EDB grant application preparation to build the documentation and financial case
• Coordinate the SST supplier consortium conversations — translating warm AMI vendor relationships into joint lab co-funding discussions
• Track the March 2027 joint lab close deadline across all workstreams
• Own the SST orders pipeline, business plan and drive revenue conversion both short term and long term
BESS Commercial Programme- International
• Build and manage the BESS international commercial pipeline— identifying, qualifying, and progressing BESS EMS pilot candidates among operators entering the grid ancillary services market
• Coordinate between BESS Product Owner and international commercial conversations — ensuring what we can sell matches what we can deliver
• Own the BESS board reporting pack — pipeline, revenue model, milestone tracker — updated without being asked
• Drive proposal preparation, commercial terms structuring, and partner engagement cadence
International AMI Programme
• Manage the international AMI team operating rhythm
• Maintain the international pipeline tracker across all geographies — weekly update, monthly board roll-up
• Prepare market entry materials, partner presentations, and government engagement briefings as required
• Support the International President in closing conversations — background research, commercial structuring, follow-up management
What We Are Looking ForMust Have
• MBA from NUS, NTU, INSEAD, LBS, Wharton, HBS, ISB, IIMA, IIMB, or equivalent top-tier institution
• 8–10 years of total post-MBA experience in energy, infrastructure, cleantech, or adjacent sectors
• Genuine energy sector fluency — you understand storage, grid infrastructure, and APAC energy markets without needing a primer
• Singapore-based or committed to relocate — this role requires presence
• Demonstrated execution ownership — you have built pipelines, managed programmes, and delivered results, not just advised on strategy
• APAC commercial instinct — you understand how business gets done across India, Singapore, Australia, and SE Asia
Strong Differentiators
• Experience at a leading APAC energy developer or IPP (Sembcorp, Keppel, ENGIE, Ørsted, Equis, Actis, Greenko, ReNew, or similar)
• Has worked at or with a cleantech start-up or scale-up — comfortable with ambiguity and a fast-moving environment
• Familiarity with EDB Singapore grant instruments or public-private partnership structures
• Strong India market familiarity — networks in Indian utilities, renewable developers, or energy conglomerates
