Job Summary

A Senior Accountant plays a critical role in ensuring financial accuracy, compliance, and operational efficiency within an organization.

Responsibilities

• Manage month-end and year-end close processes to ensure timely and accurate financial reporting
• Prepare financial statements compliant with SFRS and ACRA accounting standards
• Perform complex account reconciliations and maintain the general ledger for accuracy
• Oversee fixed asset accounting and manage depreciation schedules to reflect asset values correctly
• Prepare statutory and compliance reports including GST and grant returns following regulatory requirements
• Coordinate internal and external audits to ensure audit readiness and compliance
• Ensure adherence to accounting standards, internal controls, and regulatory requirements across financial operations
• Prepare management accounts, conduct variance analysis, and develop financial models to support decision-making
• Analyze financial data and provide actionable recommendations to management for business improvement
• Manage cashflow forecasting, banking relationships, and treasury functions to optimize liquidity
• Mentor junior accountants to develop their skills and support cross-departmental collaboration
• Act as a key liaison with auditors, regulators, and internal stakeholders to facilitate communication and compliance
• Utilize ERP systems and financial reporting tools, including QuickBooks Online, to enhance accounting processes

Required competencies and certifications

• Advanced accounting knowledge demonstrated through handling complex reconciliations
• Strong understanding of accounting standards (SFRS/ACRA)
• Proficiency in ERP systems and financial reporting tools
• Experience with QuickBooks Online Accounting Software

Preferred competencies and qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in accounting or finance
• 4–7+ years of progressive accounting experience
