Job Responsibilities:

  • Execute and coordinate production schedules with planning and operations teams to meet customer and business requirements.

  • Lead and plan technology transfer and implementation of new equipment and technologies into the production line.

  • Identify process capabilities and develop, optimise and implement new technology to improve production throughput.

  • Analyse manufacturing and warehousing processes and workflows to improve productivity, efficiency and cost reduction.

  • Enforce workplace organisation standards and good housekeeping practices such as 5S.

  • Drive continuous improvement initiatives, including Lean Manufacturing, 5S, process digitalisation and manufacturing system integration.

  • Work closely with the Quality Department to ensure products meet established quality standards.

  • Resolve production-related quality issues in coordination with relevant teams.

  • Ensure all production and engineering activities comply with GMP, ISO 9001, ISO 14001, ISO 45001, environmental requirements and internal policies.

  • Develop and oversee the execution of maintenance plans for process-related equipment.

  • Lead preventive and corrective maintenance planning.

  • Work with Maintenance and Engineering teams to improve equipment reliability and production efficiency.

  • Manage sub-contractors engaged for engineering and facility works.

  • Ensure safety rules are enforced when sub-contractors are working within company premises.

  • Investigate production issues or equipment failures.

  • Identify root causes and implement corrective and preventive actions.

  • Support production and engineering root cause analysis and ensure issues are followed through to closure.

  • Participate in and prepare process safety assessments and risk assessment activities.

  • Conduct and oversee pre-job safety briefings.

  • Ensure production and engineering activities comply with safety regulations, environmental standards, GMP, ISO requirements and internal policies.

  • Strictly observe company safety regulations and procedures at all times.

  • Exercise maximum care and good judgement in preventing accidents and fire.

  • Serve as Site Incident Controller during emergency response situations.

  • Prepare or execute technical studies and process validation assessments, protocols and reports.

  • Develop, review and maintain Standard Operating Procedures, work instructions and process / equipment documentation.

  • Lead training programmes and set up documentation and procedural controls for current and new equipment.

  • Provide technical support to the production and engineering teams.

  • Support training and competency development of production and engineering personnel.

  • Support scale-up and introduction of new products or processes into the production line.

  • Collect and analyse production data such as yield, downtime and cycle time.

  • Monitor production performance and support decision-making through data analysis.

  • Monitor resource utilisation and production costs to ensure efficient operations and budget adherence.

  • Identify and implement cost reduction and waste minimisation initiatives while maintaining product quality and operational efficiency.

  • Participate in or lead manufacturing improvement projects, including process optimisation, automation, equipment upgrades and facility improvement initiatives.

  • Coordinate and lead the implementation and function of continuous improvement programmes across Production, Engineering and Warehouse.

Job Requirements:

  • Diploma or Degree in Chemical Engineering or related Engineering discipline.

  • Relevant working experience in manufacturing / production / process improvement will be an advantage.

  • Proficient in Microsoft Office
