Job Overview

Weare looking for an Electrical Commissioning Engineer to join our Singapore team. The ideal candidate will possess the necessary technical skills and expertise to ensure the flawless commissioning of mechanical, electrical, and plumbing systems in various construction projects typically working under the Owner, Customer or General Contractor organization. The candidate will lead technical aspects of commissioning projects and support project management activities while mentoring junior engineers. Besides that, the candidate should possess deeper technical knowledge, coach junior staff, develop and conduct training modules and develop standard documentation.

Core Knowledge & Expectations

·       Understand the commissioning process from planning through execution to handover.

·       Deep technical knowledge across electrical, mechanical, and controls systems.

·       Ability to write, review and interpret test method statements, checklists, and reports.

·       Strong documentation skills for accurate reporting and issue logging.

·       Commitment to continuous learning and development of technical and soft skills.

·       Commitment to coaching and training junior staff.

·       Strong understanding commissioning software platforms and data tracking tools.

·       Ability to lead technical discussions with project stake holders (Owner/Client, end-users, Designer / AE / EoR, Ops team, GC, vendors).

Key Responsibilities

·       Witness and report on Factory Acceptance Testing (FAT)

·       Inspect and report on construction installation quality and commissioning readiness.

·       Attend and witness Testing and Commissioning activities during construction phase on site

·       Review design drawings, testing script, test results and documents from a commissioning perspective

·       Attend and contribute to commissioning meetings with Client and Contractors

·       Assist with development of Integrated Systems Testing (IST) plans and scripts

·       Participate in IST on site

·       Assist with weekly and monthly reports on commissioning progress

·       Review vendors O&M Manuals and training plans

·       Contribute to development of in-house training on Electrical Engineering

·       Conduct training modules inhouse on electrical related topics, approx. 4 sessions per year.

·       Act as a subject matter expert on electrical engineering topics related to building services

Skills &Qualifications

·       Degree in Electrical Engineering

·       5 + years’ experience in either design consultancy, Commissioning Agent or electrical equipment vendor or electrical contractor

·       Experience working on buildings construction projects

·       Strong understanding of electrical systems within building services

·       Strong understanding of commissioning process for electrical systems

·       Understanding of electrical systems and equipment, including:

o   HV/MV switchgear

o   SCADA

o   Power transformers

o   CT/VT

o   Cables

o   LV switchboards / PDU

o   Static UPS and batteries

o   Generators / DRUPS

o   Interlocking / inter-tripping

o   Protection relays

o   Power monitoring systems

o   Load banks

o   Busbars / busways / TOU

o   Auto Transfer Switch (ATS)

·       Experience in Data Centre, laboratory or Semi-conductor projects would be advantageous

·       Familiarity with data centers infrastructure and ensuring the proper integration of MEP systems
