Purchaser / Procurement Executive (Ship Chandler / Training Provided)

Job Responsibilities

• Manage purchasing activities for both marine provisions and technical supplies.

• Source, evaluate, and negotiate with suppliers to ensure competitive pricing, quality, and timely delivery.

• Prepare and process Purchase Orders (POs) based on vessel and operational requirements.

• Liaise with suppliers, vendors, warehouse, and internal teams to coordinate deliveries.

• Handle urgent purchasing requests and ensure timely fulfilment according to vessel schedules.

• Monitor order status, follow up on outstanding deliveries, and resolve supply issues.

• Verify supplier quotations, invoices, delivery orders, and purchasing documentation.

• Maintain proper procurement records and update purchasing systems.

• Support inventory control and replenishment of marine stores.

• Build and maintain good relationships with suppliers.

• Perform other ad-hoc procurement duties assigned by management.

Requirements

• Candidates with purchasing experience in the ship chandling, marine, shipping, or related industries are preferred.

• Experience handling technical purchasing, marine spare parts, or vessel provisions will be an advantage.

• Strong supplier management and negotiation skills.

• Familiar with procurement processes and documentation.
