About this job

Our Client:

Templewater is a leading Asia-based private equity investor and alternative asset manager. Founded in 2018 in partnership with Investec, we operate at the intersection of capital deployment, active ownership, and high-impact growth. Our firm specializes in two core pan-Asia investment strategies: Mid-Market Buyouts and Energy Transition & Decarbonization growth equity, alongside a dedicated Australian real estate portfolio. With offices across Hong Kong, Singapore, and Muscat, Templewater acts as a crucial "superconnector" linking global institutional capital, family offices, and emerging market opportunities across Asia, the Middle East, and beyond.

Position Overview:

We are seeking an entrepreneurial, strategic, and deeply connected Vice President of Business Development. In this pivotal role, you will lead the firm's capital-raising initiatives, institutional investor coverage, and strategic deal-sourcing ecosystems. You will work closely with our executive leadership team—including Senior Partners and Managing Directors—to map capital markets, identify key decision-makers, and drive actionable pipeline growth across our core funds.

Location: Singapore
Reports To: Partner/Managing Director

Key Responsibilities:

Fundraising & Capital Markets Coverage

  • Target Capital Raising: Drive capital procurement and relationship building across global institutional markets, including sovereign wealth funds (SWFs), family offices, external asset managers (EAMs), pension funds, and endowments.
  • Investor Qualification: Perform intensive market research to discover, qualify, and segment high-probability prospective investors.
  • Investor Relations Support: Collaborate with deal teams to create institutional-grade marketing assets, pitch decks, private placement memorandums (PPMs), and due diligence questionnaire (DDQ) materials.

Strategic Deal Sourcing & Ecosystem Building

  • Origination Ecosystem: Map high-growth sectors aligned with Templewater's mandates, particularly in mid-market healthcare/B2B and global decarbonization/clean energy infrastructure.
  • Corporate Advisory Networks: Cultivate robust pipelines with investment banks, boutique advisors, brokers, and founders to secure proprietary, off-market mid-market buyout deal flow.
  • Geographic Expansion: Actively position Templewater as a cross-border "superconnector" to expand our footprint in newly targeted geographies (e.g., Central Asia, Southeast Asia, Middle East).

Leadership & Pipeline Management

  • Roadshow Coordination: Structure and coordinate global fundraising roadshows, investor meetings, and annual general meetings (AGMs) for senior leadership.
  • CRM Management: Maintain flawless execution tracking using internal CRM and pipeline tools. Ensure prospective client touchpoints are carefully documented and converted.

Requirements & Qualifications:

  • Education: Bachelor’s degree in Business, Finance, Economics, or a related discipline; an MBA, CFA, or CA designation is highly preferred.
  • Experience: Minimum 8–12 years of professional experience in Private Equity Business Development, Institutional Investor Relations, Private Wealth placement, or Investment Banking.
  • Asset Class Knowledge: Deep understanding of the alternative asset space, corporate private equity mechanics (LBOs, growth capital), and sustainability/ESG investment themes.
  • Proven Network: An established, active Rolodex of institutional allocators, EAMs, and prominent single/multi-family offices across the Asia-Pacific region.
  • Communication Skills: Exceptional presentation, communication, and negotiation capabilities.
  • Language Proficiency: Fluency in written and spoken English and Mandarin/Cantonese is required due to our pan-Asian focus and frequent regional stakeholder interaction.

What Our Client Offer:

  • A highly collaborative, fast-paced, and entrepreneurial work culture.
  • Direct exposure to senior leadership and portfolio company executives.
  • Competitive base salary package with performance-driven carry/discretionary bonuses.
  • Opportunity to be at the forefront of the regional energy transition and mid-market growth sectors.
