Job Summary
As the Client Engagement Officer at New Hope Community Services Limited, you will be an integral part of our mission to bring change into the lives of the displaced and disadvantaged in the community. You’ll look after the safety and well-being of the residents in our shelter, ensuring day-to-day operations run smoothly so that our beneficiaries always have a safe space to return to and rest.
Key Responsibilities
Client Supervision
- Provide administrative and operational support in overall shelter operations.
- Handle day-to-day general queries from shelter residents.
- Assist in the admission and orientation of new shelter residents.
Conflict Management
- Manage general disputes that may occur between co-living shelter residents.
- Respond to incidents within shelter units, such as de-escalating crisis situations, and notify Client Engagement Executive / Senior Client Engagement Executive for the next action step.
Workplace Safety and Health
- Support the maintenance of the security, health, and safety of the shelter environment.
- Access shelter units for maintenance checks, perform minor maintenance repairs and/or contact repair persons for necessary maintenance.
- Enforce shelter rules and conduct shelter inspections for compliance with shelter rules.
Administration
- Collect statistics for monitoring and evaluation of activities and programmes of the shelter.
- Perform and assist in data entry for client and operational records.
- Collect and maintain records of payments from clients for shelter fees and utilities.
- Maintain records of the distribution of rations / assistance to shelter residents, including the inventory of in-kind donations.
Others
- Any other related duties in New Hope CSL as assigned by Reporting Officer.
Accountability
- Reports to the Client Engagement Executive / Senior Client Engagement Executive.
Competency Requirements
Core Competencies
- Communication: Excellent interpersonal and communication skills for effective communication with residents, team, community partners, and stakeholders.
- Leadership: Excellent team player with strong responsibility skills.
- Collaboration: Willing to work with the homeless and destitute. Able to handle shelter residents politely yet firmly.
- Self-motivated individual with the ability to work independently.
- Physically fit for general work
Technical Competencies
- Proficiency in IT Systems and Microsoft Office Suite (e.g., Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, etc.).
Education and Experience:
- Minimum GCE ‘N’ Level / ‘O’ Level / Nitec Certification in related disciplines
- Be operationally ready to support some work over weekends / after office hours
