HEAVY VEHICLE MECHANIC

Job Description

We are looking for an experienced and reliable Truck Mechanic to join our team. The successful candidate will be responsible for inspecting, servicing, repairing and maintaining our fleet of commercial trucks and heavy vehicles to ensure they remain safe, reliable and roadworthy.

Key Responsibilities

• Perform regular servicing, maintenance and repairs on trucks and heavy commercial vehicles.
• Diagnose mechanical, electrical and engine-related problems.
• Carry out repairs on engines, transmissions, braking systems, suspension, steering and cooling systems.
• Conduct preventive maintenance and vehicle inspections.
• Troubleshoot and repair vehicle electrical and electronic systems.
• Inspect vehicles for defects and safety issues.
• Replace faulty or worn-out parts and components.
• Carry out oil changes, brake servicing, filter replacement and other routine maintenance.
• Attend to urgent breakdowns and carry out roadside repairs when required.
• Maintain proper records of servicing, repairs and parts replaced.
• Ensure all repairs are completed according to safety and operational standards.
• Keep the workshop, tools and equipment clean and properly maintained.
• Coordinate with drivers and operations staff regarding vehicle faults and maintenance requirements.
• Ensure trucks are maintained in a condition suitable for daily commercial operations.

Requirements

• Relevant experience as a Truck Mechanic / Heavy Vehicle Mechanic.
• Experience working on commercial trucks, lorries or heavy vehicles.
• Good knowledge of diesel engines and heavy vehicle systems.
• Knowledge of vehicle electrical and diagnostic systems.
• Able to troubleshoot and identify mechanical problems independently.
• Able to work independently as well as in a team.
• Good attitude, reliability and willingness to work flexible hours when required.
• Physically fit and able to perform workshop and vehicle repair duties.
• Relevant technical qualifications or certifications will be an advantage.
• Singapore Class 3/4/5 driving licence will be an advantage.
