Supplier Quality Manager (ISO 9001) Semicon - VTAL

Our client is one of the leading players in the Contract Manufacturing sector. Due to business needs, they are now recruiting a Supplier Quality Manager to be part of their Quality team for ongoing transformation projects. They are located in the East – easily accessible.

Job Responsibilities of Supplier Quality Manager:

Supplier Quality Management

• Lead and manage a team of Supplier Quality Engineers (SQEs) and Incoming Quality Inspectors.
• Establish supplier quality standards, KPIs, scorecards, and performance targets.
• Monitor supplier quality performance, including PPM, incoming defects, escapes, corrective actions, and responsiveness.
• Drive supplier accountability and continuous improvement to ensure consistent quality of materials and components.
• Lead supplier quality issue resolution using 8D, CAPA, root-cause analysis, and preventive actions.
• Conduct and coordinate supplier audits and assessments to evaluate quality systems, process controls, and manufacturing capabilities.

Ship-to-Stock (STS) Program

• Own and drive the Ship-to-Stock (STS) program across qualified suppliers and materials.
• Drive quality-at-source, ensuring suppliers take ownership of inspection and quality control before shipment.
• Establish supplier requirements for inspection standards, test methods, sampling plans, measurement equipment, and trained personnel.

Incoming Quality Inspection

• Oversee incoming inspection activities and ensure appropriate inspection standards and sampling plans are implemented.
• Optimize incoming inspection based on supplier performance, material risk, and quality history.
• Drive the transition from company-controlled inspection toward supplier-controlled quality and accountability.

Cross-Functional Responsibilities

• Work closely with Procurement, Engineering, Operations, and suppliers to ensure purchased materials meet quality and technical requirements.
• Partner with Engineering and Procurement during NPI to assess supplier readiness, quality risks, and manufacturing capability.
• Provide supplier quality assessments and performance data to support supplier selection and sourcing decisions.
• Lead supplier quality reviews and present quality performance, risks, and improvement plans to management.

Requirements:

• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Quality, Manufacturing, Supply Chain, Electronics, or a related discipline.
• Minimum 5 years of relevant experience in supplier quality, manufacturing quality, incoming quality, or a related field.
• Experience in EMS, electronics, contract manufacturing, or high-volume manufacturing is strongly preferred.
• Strong knowledge of Supplier Quality Management, Incoming Inspection, 8D, CAPA, and Root Cause Analysis.
