Shipping Coordinator
About this job
The successful candidate will support the coordination of import, export and offshore shipments, ensuring that goods are delivered on schedule and in accordance with contractual and regulatory requirements. The role will also cover shipping documentation, inventory records, internal workflows and operational reporting.
Key Responsibilities:
- Schedule, coordinate and monitor import, export and offshore shipments.
- Liaise with suppliers, freight forwarders, warehouses and internal logistics teams to ensure the timely movement of goods.
- Ensure shipment activities comply with contractual obligations and applicable regulatory requirements.
- Prepare and verify shipping documents, including commercial invoices, packing lists, bills of lading and certificates of origin.
- Ensure all documentation is complete and accurate before submission to relevant counterparties.
- Maintain shipment tracking records and prepare operational reports.
- Update stock records, master data and other information within internal systems.
- Process workflow entries through the MUGEN system accurately and promptly.
- Support process transitions, SOP updates and continuous improvement initiatives.
Requirements:
- Diploma or Degree in Business, Logistics, Supply Chain, International Trade or a related discipline.
- At least one year of relevant experience in logistics coordination, shipping or supply chain operations.
- Diploma holders should have at least three years of relevant experience.
- Relevant internship experience may be considered as part of the required work experience.
- Experience in the chemical industry or handling bulk shipments would be advantageous.
- Basic understanding of international trade processes, shipping documentation and Incoterms.
- Familiarity with payment terms, contract management systems and ERP workflows.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office applications.
- Knowledge of Letters of Credit (LC) and Documents against Payment (DP) would be an advantage but is not essential.
