Job Summary
Reporting to the Plant Manager, you will lead engineering projects and maintenance activities to optimize printing equipment performance, ensuring operational efficiency and compliance with quality and safety standards.
Responsibilities
- Lead engineering projects for printing equipment installation, upgrades, and process optimization to improve operational efficiency
- Develop and implement maintenance strategies that maximize machine uptime and reliability
- Troubleshoot and resolve complex technical issues, providing advanced guidance to the team
- Manage and maintain technical documentation, including equipment specifications, maintenance records, and project reports
- Drive continuous improvement initiatives, including automation and technology upgrades, to enhance production processes
- Mentor and train junior engineers and technicians to build technical skills and team competency
- Calibrate and align machines to ensure optimal print quality and operational efficiency
- Monitor spare parts inventory and coordinate procurement to prevent shortages and minimize downtime
- Maintain accurate maintenance records, including machine history and downtime reports, to support data-driven decisions
- Ensure compliance with company policies, SOPs, safety standards, and regulatory requirements during maintenance activities
- Coordinate with external vendors for specialized repairs, upgrades, and technical support to maintain equipment performance
- Support installation, commissioning, and upgrading of new printing machines and systems to meet production demands
- Maintain quality environmental management system and 5S system to uphold workplace standards
- Ensure adherence to Quality Management System (QMS), Environmental Health & Safety (EHS), and Legal & Ethical (L&E) procedures within the department
- Collaborate closely with HR, Production, Quality, and Warehouse departments to align maintenance activities with operational goals
- Perform additional duties as assigned by the Plant Manager to support plant operations
Required competencies and certifications
- Proven experience as a mechanical and software engineer with hands-on machine maintenance skills
- Minimum ITE qualification in Engineering or equivalent with at least 2 years of machine maintenance experience
Preferred competencies and qualifications
- Experience in troubleshooting and problem-solving for offset printing machines
- Experience in Mechanical and Plant Facility maintenance
Job location : Tuas and Woodlands
