About this job

A. Strategic Procurement & Category Management

• Lead end‑to‑end procurement activities (RFQ/RFP, supplier evaluation, negotiations, award recommendation) for indirect materials, consumables, packaging components, and services.

• Apply Total Cost of Ownership (TCO) and risk‑based sourcing methodologies aligned with Singapore’s procurement governance expectations.

• Develop category strategies, including supplier rationalisation, dual‑sourcing models, contract frameworks, and cost‑reduction initiatives.

• Identify and execute measurable savings programs, benchmarking against regional market indices and global commodity trends.

• Ensure full compliance with company procurement policies, audit requirements, and MAS/regulatory expectations where applicable.

B. Supplier & Vendor Management

• Manage day‑to‑day supplier engagement, performance monitoring, and issue resolution.

• Drive supplier development initiatives, including lead‑time improvements, cost and waste reduction, and quality enhancement.

• Support vendor onboarding including due‑diligence checks, certifications, sustainability requirements (e.g., ISO, ESG commitments).

• Participate in contract and SLA discussions to ensure robustness of commercial terms, risk management, and service levels.

C. Inventory, Materials & Operational Support

• Analyse usage trends, safety stock levels, and planning parameters to forecast consumable requirements.

• Collaborate with warehouse, operations, and QC to ensure supply continuity and mitigate shortages.

• Support coordination of hazardous/regulated waste collection (e.g., drums, IBCs) in compliance with NEA and local regulations.

• Monitor slow‑moving inventory and work with cross‑functional teams on mitigation actions.

D. Packaging & Regulatory Documentation

• Liaise with suppliers on packaging specifications, artwork accuracy, quality standards, and cost proposals.

• Create, update, and validate product labels in compliance with regulatory standards and customer requirements.

• Manage Safety Data Sheet (SDS) submissions and coordinate with logistics partners (e.g., DHL) to meet export documentation requirements.

• Prepare FTA, COO, and customs documents, ensuring compliance with Singapore Customs and international trade regulations.

E. Continuous Improvement & Digital Enablement

• Identify opportunities to automate procurement workflows and enhance visibility through SAP dashboards and procurement analytics.

• Participate in Supply Chain transformation projects including digitalization, sustainability, and vendor risk assessments.

• Support internal audits, ISO requirements, and compliance reviews as required

Key Skills and Personal Attributes
- At least 5+ years of procurement or supply chain experience in manufacturing, chemicals, lubricants, FMCG, or related sectors.

- Excellent communication skills with the ability to work with both internal stakeholders and external suppliers.

- Strong planning, coordination, and multitasking abilities.

- High attention to detail and strong follow through.

- Collaborative team player with a proactive, solution oriented mindset.

- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision while managing day to day procurement operations.

Essential Criteria
- Diploma or Bachelors degree in supply chain (or equivalent).

- Experience in a similar position is desired

- Must have experience in customer relationship development.

- Able to demonstrate an overall understanding of the contract negotiation process (i.e., how negotiations are set up, who participates, what issues are discussed); knows a variety of effective negotiation techniques

- Capability to translate customer requirements into business opportunities
