Head of Curriculum & Training

at Singapore's leading AI and technology training provider

Full-time | Singapore | Curriculum & Training Leadership | Onsite

The opportunity

At Vertical Institute, we believe effective training should be practical, relevant, and applicable to the needs of professionals and businesses. We have trained over 50,000 professionals across individual and corporate programmes, and as AI continues to transform the workplace, we are expanding our training capabilities to meet growing demand.

We are looking for a Head of Curriculum & Training to own that standard of quality.

This is a senior leadership and management role reporting directly to the CEO. You will not be responsible for teaching or facilitating classes. Instead, you will lead the team responsible for curriculum development and training delivery, set the instructional and quality standards across our programme portfolio, and build the systems that ensure our programmes consistently meet the standards we promise to learners and clients.

You will lead a team of trainers, providing direction across curriculum strategy, programme quality, trainer capability, performance, and continuous improvement.

We are looking for someone who holds learning quality to a genuinely high standard—not as a compliance exercise, but because they believe it matters. If you have built curriculum, led training teams, and have substantial experience within Singapore's adult education landscape, we want to hear from you.

What you will own

Curriculum Strategy & Programme Development

  • Own the overall curriculum strategy and instructional architecture across Vertical Institute's programme portfolio.

  • Lead the design, review, and continuous improvement of curriculum, assessments, learning materials, and programme structures.

  • Set clear standards for curriculum quality, instructional design, learner outcomes, and industry relevance.

  • Ensure programmes are practical, pedagogically sound, and aligned with the skills professionals and organisations need.

  • Lead the development of new programmes and continuously improve existing programmes based on learner feedback, market needs, industry developments, and performance data.

  • Partner closely with Admissions and Corporate Sales to ensure programme positioning accurately reflects the curriculum, learning outcomes, and experience delivered.

Team Leadership & Performance

  • Lead and manage a team of trainers, providing clear direction, priorities, and performance expectations.

  • Establish standards and frameworks that guide the team's approach to curriculum development and training delivery.

  • Oversee recruitment, onboarding, capability development, performance management, and succession planning for the curriculum and training team.

  • Coach and develop team members to consistently raise the quality and effectiveness of programmes.

  • Build a high-performance culture centred on ownership, continuous improvement, accountability, and learning quality.

  • Review trainer and curriculum team performance through structured quality and performance processes, ensuring gaps are identified and addressed.

Quality Assurance & Accreditation

  • Own the overall quality assurance framework for curriculum and training across the organisation.

  • Ensure programmes consistently meet applicable SkillsFuture Singapore (SSG), WSQ, accreditation, and quality requirements.

  • Own programme documentation, quality processes, audit readiness, and compliance requirements for accredited programmes.

  • Establish quality control mechanisms to ensure consistency across curriculum, learning materials, assessments, and training delivery.

  • Represent Vertical Institute in accreditation reviews, audits, and external engagements with relevant stakeholders.

  • Ensure the organisation maintains the standards required to protect its standing with funding and accreditation bodies.

Training Operations & Resource Planning

  • Oversee the overall training function, including programme scheduling, trainer deployment, capacity planning, and resource allocation.

  • Ensure the training team has the appropriate capacity, resources, and support to deliver programmes effectively.

  • Identify operational bottlenecks and implement systems and processes that improve efficiency without compromising quality.

  • Work closely with relevant teams to ensure smooth coordination between curriculum development, trainer deployment, programme operations, and learner delivery.

Performance, Data & Continuous Improvement

  • Establish and track key performance indicators across learner satisfaction, assessment outcomes, completion rates, programme effectiveness, and trainer performance.

  • Analyse learner and programme data to identify quality gaps, trends, and opportunities for improvement.

  • Translate insights into clear actions for the curriculum and training team.

  • Lead strategic initiatives that scale Vertical Institute's training capability while maintaining a consistently high standard of learning quality.

  • Continuously evaluate whether programmes are achieving the intended learner and business outcomes.

What we look for

The credentials below are mandatory requirements. Beyond the qualifications, we are looking for a senior learning professional with the leadership judgement, curriculum expertise, and operational discipline to lead a high-performing curriculum and training function.

Mandatory Requirements

  • ACLP certification under the Singapore WSQ framework.

  • DACE or DDDLP certification.

  • 5–7 years of progressive experience in adult education, curriculum development, instructional design, training, L&D, or related learning functions, including significant experience in a leadership or management capacity.

  • Proven experience leading and managing trainers, curriculum developers, facilitators, or learning professionals.

  • Strong expertise in curriculum design, instructional architecture, adult learning principles, and programme development.

  • Strong working knowledge of SkillsFuture Singapore (SSG), WSQ frameworks, accreditation requirements, and training quality standards.

  • Demonstrated experience managing programme quality and continuous improvement within Singapore's adult education or training landscape.

  • Strong understanding of learning evaluation, assessment design, and outcome-based programme development.

  • Comfortable working with LMS platforms, digital learning tools, AI-enabled learning technologies, and technology-enabled learning environments.

  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to translate learner and operational data into practical improvements.

  • A clear and credible communicator who can represent the function confidently to senior leadership, accreditation bodies, trainers, and corporate clients.

  • Strong ownership, attention to detail, and a high bar for quality.
