Job Purpose
The Research Officer will support ongoing research and development projects through the design and execution of laboratory experiments, data analysis, and scientific documentation. The role involves hands-on research activities, development of novel formulations and delivery systems, and collaboration with multidisciplinary teams to achieve project objectives.
Key Responsibilities
Research & Experimental Activities
- Design and conduct laboratory experiments according to project objectives and established protocols.
- Develop, optimize, and evaluate formulations and delivery systems for nucleic acids, biologics, or other therapeutic modalities.
- Perform routine and advanced laboratory techniques, including sample preparation, characterization, and analysis.
- Analyze experimental data and prepare reports, presentations, and technical summaries.
Project Support
- Contribute to the planning and execution of research projects and milestones.
- Maintain accurate experimental records, laboratory notebooks, and project documentation.
- Support technology development, process optimization, and troubleshooting activities.
- Assist in drafting research reports, scientific publications, patents, and grant proposals.
Laboratory Management
- Maintain laboratory equipment and ensure instruments are properly calibrated and functioning.
- Manage laboratory consumables, reagents, and inventory.
- Ensure laboratory activities comply with safety regulations and quality requirements.
Requirements
Education
- Bachelor's or Master's degree in:
- Biotechnology
- Biomedical Sciences
- Pharmaceutical Sciences
- Chemical Engineering
- Biochemistry
- Molecular Biology
- Nanotechnology
- Related disciplines
Experience
- Experience in laboratory research or R&D environments is preferred.
- Fresh graduates with strong academic or research project experience are encouraged to apply.
- Experience in formulation development, nanoparticle systems, or biologics is advantageous.
Preferred Experience for RNA Encapsulation & Delivery
- Formulation and characterization of lipid nanoparticles (LNPs), polymeric nanoparticles, or other nucleic acid delivery platforms.
- Experience with RNA handling, encapsulation, and stability studies.
- Knowledge of gene delivery, mRNA therapeutics, siRNA, or oligonucleotide formulations.
