Position Overview

Wilmar International is seeking a Senior Technical Service Executive to strengthen our technical leadership in specialty oils and fats. This role combines technical expertise, hands-on customer engagement, and new product development (NPD) to deliver differentiated, value-adding solutions for customers across a wide range of applications.

The successful candidate will serve as a trusted technical partner to customers, supporting them in developing new and improved products, optimizing formulations and production efficiency, troubleshooting processing and application challenges, and designing products that meet performance, regulatory, and commercial requirements.

In parallel, the role will contribute to NPD initiatives in specialty oils and fats, ensuring Wilmar remains at the forefront of technical excellence and customer-driven innovation.

Key Responsibilities – Technical Customer Service

• Act as a primary technical interface for customers using specialty oils and fats.
• Support customers in product design, formulation optimization, and application development.
• Provide hands-on troubleshooting for processing, crystallization, texture, stability, and performance challenges.
• Help customers improve production efficiency, yield, robustness, and consistency.
• Conduct technical visits, trials, product demonstrations, and application workshops.

Key Responsibilities – New Product Development (NPD)

• Support NPD projects for specialty oils and fats from concept through commercialization.
• Develop and optimize formulations aligned with customer needs, market trends, and regional requirements.
• Collaborate with R&D, production, quality, and commercial teams to ensure scalable and robust solutions.
• Translate customer and market insights into actionable development projects.
• Monitor industry trends, emerging technologies, and competitor activity to guide innovation.
• Provide technical support to Wilmar’s manufacturing network related to specialty oils and fats.
• Deliver technical training, workshops, and structured knowledge transfer.

Commercial & Strategic Contribution

• Integrate commercial considerations into all technical and NPD activities.
• Work closely with sales and commercial teams to support key accounts and co-development projects.
• Contribute technical insight to portfolio development and long-term growth strategies.

Qualifications & Experience

• Bachelor’s degree in Food Science, Food Technology, Chemical Engineering, or a related discipline.
• 5 to 6 years of relevant experience in specialty oils and fats.
• Strong background in technical customer service, application development, and NPD.
• Proven ability to translate customer challenges into practical technical solutions.
• Excellent communication skills and strong cross-cultural collaboration capability.
• Commercially minded with the ability to link technical work to customer value.
• Willingness to travel internationally as required.
