Job Summary
We are looking for an experienced Murex 3.1 BackOffice Functional Analyst with strong hands-on experience in trade lifecycle processing, MxML workflows, accounting processes, and downstream system integrations.
The ideal candidate will have extensive experience working in financial institutions and will be responsible for translating business requirements into functional specifications, supporting development and testing activities, and ensuring successful implementation of Murex solutions across SIT, UAT, and production environments.
The role requires close collaboration with business users, developers, architects, QA teams, and production support teams to ensure solutions meet business, regulatory, accounting, and system integration requirements.
Key Responsibilities
- Analyze business and user requirements and translate them into detailed functional specifications for Murex Back Office.
- Work closely with business stakeholders, developers, architects, and QA teams to ensure accurate implementation of requirements.
- Provide functional expertise across Murex 3.1 Back Office, including trade lifecycle events and post-trade processing.
- Analyze and support trade event processing, including relevant lifecycle events, settlements, confirmations, accounting, and downstream processing.
- Design, prepare, and execute functional test cases and test scenarios covering Murex trade lifecycle and accounting processes.
- Prepare test data and support System Integration Testing (SIT) and User Acceptance Testing (UAT).
- Investigate test failures, perform functional analysis, and work with development teams to resolve defects.
- Coordinate with business users to validate functionality and obtain UAT sign-offs.
- Work with MxML workflows/interfaces and analyze data flows between Murex and downstream systems.
- Analyze downstream systems, data warehouses, reporting platforms, and regulatory reporting interfaces.
- Validate the accuracy, completeness, consistency, and timeliness of financial and trade data flowing from Murex to downstream systems.
- Document functional flows, business processes, test results, issues, resolutions, and implementation procedures.
- Support production implementation, release activities, and post-implementation validation.
- Assist production and application support teams with functional troubleshooting and issue resolution.
- Ensure solutions comply with applicable business, accounting, regulatory, data, and system integration standards.
- Participate in impact analysis for enhancements, changes, and new business requirements.
- Identify potential risks and dependencies across Murex and integrated downstream applications.
- Support knowledge transfer and transition of implemented solutions to production/support teams.
Required Skills & Experience
- 10+ years of relevant experience, preferably within a banking, capital markets, or financial services environment.
- Strong hands-on experience with Murex 3.1 Back Office.
- Proven experience with Murex trade event processing and trade lifecycle management.
- Hands-on experience with MxML workflows and interfaces.
- Strong understanding of Murex Back Office processes, including settlements, confirmations, accounting, and post-trade processing.
- Experience in requirements gathering, business analysis, and functional specification preparation.
- Strong experience in test case preparation, test execution, SIT, and UAT.
- Experience analyzing and troubleshooting Murex downstream interfaces and data flows.
- Understanding of integrations between Murex and data warehouses, reporting platforms, and regulatory reporting systems.
- Ability to analyze trade and financial data and identify data quality, reconciliation, and interface issues.
- Experience working with developers and technical architects to translate functional requirements into implementable solutions.
- Strong documentation and communication skills.
- Ability to work effectively with business users, technology teams, QA teams, and production support teams.
