About this job

The Jobholder will be responsible for the Care Centres teams, namely the sheltered home, the senior care centres (excluding community rehabilitation), Dementia Action and Operations (facilities management, transportation, housekeeping and central kitchen). He/she will have ownership over the development and implementation of the appropriate care models for the sheltered home and senior care centres while ensuring long-term programme sustainability and compliance with MSF/MOH’s regulations and key performance indicators (KPIs), drive the execution of the Dementia Action strategies and manage the delivery quality of Operations’ services.

Duties and responsibilities

  • Oversee the operations of the sheltered home, the senior care centres (excluding community rehabilitation), Dementia Action unit and the Operations teams comprising facilities management, transportation, housekeeping and central kitchen, in close consultation with and under the supervision of Head, Centre Management
  • Work closely with the managers of these centres and units to ensure quality delivery of their respective programmes and services in accordance with the service requirements and KPIs expected by the funding authorities and regulators while keeping sustainability in check
  • Develop the vision / care model and the appropriate strategies and action plans to guide the work of each unit or team. Lead and motivate the units/teams to consistently work towards the stated goals. Review the vision, strategies and plans on an annual basis for relevance and adjust accordingly.
  • Foster a sense of pride, spirit of innovation and quality improvement mindset amongst the units/teams to encourage better care and performance each year
  • Ensure the competence and capability of the Care Centres team members to deliver the programmes or services at the expected high level
  • Perform the regular managerial tasks such as budgeting, staff appraisals, purchasing approvals, reporting

Qualifications & Skills Required

  • A recognised University Degree in any healthcare-related field
  • Experienced in directly managing a cluster of elder care centres including care models, operations and budget management
  • Strong in programme / service planning and implementation; Usage of Theory of Change is important
  • Experience in implementing person-centred care and dementia care will be advantageous
  • Preferably at least 5 years’ experience in similar position
