The Purchasing Executive is responsible for sourcing, evaluating, and equipment, spare parts, and operational supplies. This role requires managing supplier relationships, ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements, and maintaining quality and safety standards in a fast-paced, safety-sensitive environment.

Key responsibilities

• Purchase raw materials, chemicals, packaging materials, equipment, spare parts, and other operational supplies based on approved purchase requests

• Source, evaluate, and negotiate with suppliers to achieve competitive pricing, suitable payment terms, quality, and timely delivery

• Prepare, issue, and follow up on purchase orders

• Coordinate with suppliers and internal departments to ensure timely delivery of goods and services

• Ensure purchased materials meet the required technical, quality, and safety specifications

• Monitor supplier performance and resolve delivery delays, non-conformities, shortages, and quality concerns

• Maintain proper purchasing records, quotations, purchase orders, and contracts

• Conduct periodic supplier evaluations and maintain the approved supplier list

• Monitor market pricing, lead times, and potential supply risks

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in supply chain management, Business Administration, or a related field

• Minimum 2 years of purchasing experience, preferably in the Marine industry

• Good understanding of chemical handling, storage, and regulatory requirements

• Proficient in ERP systems and Microsoft Excel

• Strong communication, coordination, and negotiation skills

• Ability to priorities tasks in a fast-paced and safety-sensitive environment

• Detail-oriented, proactive, and organized
