The Service Project Team Manager is responsible for leading and managing the Power Systems Service Project Team to ensure safe, timely, and profitable execution of service projects. This role oversees a team of Project Engineers/Project Managers and is accountable for project governance, operational excellence, customer satisfaction, resource management, and team development.


The successful candidate will drive project execution discipline through regular project reviews, effective risk management, and close collaboration with internal and external stakeholders. The role also serves as a key member of the Service Operations governance structure, participating in weekly Solution Opportunity Committee (SOC) sessions and supporting strategic operational initiatives

What will you do?

Team Leadership & People Management

  • Lead, coach, and develop a team of Service Project Engineers and Project Managers.
  • Establish clear performance expectations and development plans for team members.
  • Foster a culture of accountability, collaboration, customer focus, and continuous improvement.
  • Support resource planning and workload balancing across the project portfolio.
  • Conduct regular team meetings and one-on-one discussions to monitor progress and address challenges

Project Execution & Governance

  • Ensure successful execution of Power Systems service projects in accordance with company standards, customer requirements, schedule, and budget.
  • Conduct regular project review meetings with the project team to monitor project performance, identify risks, and drive corrective actions.
  • Review project KPIs, financial performance, resource utilization, project milestones, and customer commitments.
  • Escalate project risks and critical issues in a timely manner and implement mitigation plans.
  • Ensure effective project close-out and lessons-learned reviews.
  • Present project portfolio updates, key risks, resource constraints, financial performance, and recovery plans

SGV Project Management Platform Ownership

  • Ensure all projects are properly managed and maintained within the SGV platform.
  • Drive compliance with project governance processes, documentation, reporting requirements, and system data quality.
  • Monitor project health indicators and ensure accurate project forecasting and reporting.
  • Support continuous improvement initiatives related to SGV project management processes and tools.

Operational Excellence

  • Drive consistency and standardization across project management practices.
  • Monitor operational performance and implement improvement initiatives to enhance project delivery efficiency.
  • Support implementation of digitalisation, automation, and process improvement programs.
  • Ensure effective coordination between Project Management, Field Service Operations, Sales, and Finance teams.
  • Partner closely with the Service Operation Leader in driving service operational governance.
  • Support strategic decision-making and operational improvement initiatives arising from SOC discussions

Customer & Stakeholder Management

  • Build strong relationships with customers and key stakeholders.
  • Support customer escalations and ensure timely resolution of project-related issues.
  • Collaborate closely with Service Operations, Sales, Engineering, Supply Chain, and Finance teams.
  • Maintain high levels of customer satisfaction through proactive communication and execution excellence.
  • Participate as a member of the weekly Service Operations Committee (SOC).

Safety, Quality & Compliance

  • Promote and maintain a strong safety culture within the project team.
  • Ensure compliance with company EHS policies, quality standards, and project management procedures.
  • Support incident investigations and corrective action implementation where required.
  • Drive adherence to contractual, regulatory, and company governance requirements.

What qualifications will make you successful?

  • Bachelor's Degree in Electrical Engineering, Power Engineering, Project Management, or a related discipline.
  • Minimum 6- 8 years of experience in Power Systems, Service Operations, Project Management, or related industrial sectors.
  • At least 3-5 years of leadership experience managing project teams.
  • Proven track record in managing medium to large-scale service / projects and customer-facing operations
  • Experience in power distribution, critical power, protection systems, substations, switchgear, or related power infrastructure is highly preferred.
  • Strong understanding of project management methodologies and governance.
  • Experience managing project portfolios and resource allocation.
  • Familiarity with project management systems and digital project platforms (SGV & SAP experience preferred).
  • Strong financial acumen including revenue forecasting, margin management, and project cost control.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office and reporting tools.
  • Strong people leadership and coaching skills.
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder management abilities
  • Strong risk management and decision-making capabilities.
  • Ability to work effectively across multiple functions and organizational levels.
  • Results-oriented with a continuous improvement mindset
