We are seeking an experienced infrastructure professional specialising in Enterprise Backup & Recovery, Storage and Data Resilience on behalf of a client.
In this role, you will lead the management, optimisation and modernisation of enterprise backup and storage platforms supporting mission-critical technology environments. You will play a key role in strengthening data resilience, cyber recovery, disaster recovery readiness and infrastructure reliability.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead enterprise backup and recovery operations across databases, virtual machines, physical servers and critical business applications.
- Manage and optimise enterprise backup technologies such as Commvault Backup & Recovery, Oracle RMAN and Zero Data Loss Recovery Appliance (ZDLRA).
- Lead restoration, disaster recovery, cyber recovery and ransomware recovery activities.
- Manage enterprise storage infrastructure, including provisioning, performance optimisation, capacity planning, replication and lifecycle management.
- Design and implement backup retention, archival, replication and recovery strategies aligned with business continuity and resilience requirements.
- Conduct recovery validation and support disaster recovery drills, audits, compliance and governance activities.
- Provide technical leadership during major incidents, conduct root cause analysis (RCA) and implement preventive and corrective actions.
- Collaborate with cybersecurity, infrastructure and product teams to maintain secure, reliable and resilient technology operations.
- Identify opportunities to automate and modernise infrastructure operations, improving efficiency and reliability.
- Mentor junior engineers and contribute to infrastructure architecture, technology planning and roadmaps.
Requirements
- Degree or Diploma in Computer Science, Information Technology, Information Systems or a related discipline.
- At least 5 years of hands-on enterprise infrastructure experience, with strong exposure to Backup and recovery, Enterprise storage, Virtualisation Windows and Linux environments, Disaster recovery and business continuity
- Experience with Commvault, Oracle RMAN and/or ZDLRA would be highly relevant.
- Strong troubleshooting and analytical capabilities within complex enterprise environments.
- Ability to take technical ownership and coordinate teams during high-severity incidents and recovery situations.
- Good communication and stakeholder management skills, with the ability to work across infrastructure, cybersecurity and application/product teams.
- Strong ownership, accountability and a continuous-improvement mindset.
- Strong interest in infrastructure reliability, data resilience and operational excellence.
- Comfortable working as part of a team providing 24x7 operational support.
