Head Chef

Job Description

• Lead and supervise daily kitchen operations.
• Prepare and oversee food production according to recipes and standards.
• Maintain consistency in food quality, presentation and portion control.
• Plan kitchen workflow and allocate duties to kitchen staff.
• Monitor food inventory and manage stock levels.
• Control food wastage and assist with food-cost management.
• Ensure compliance with food hygiene and safety requirements.
• Train and guide kitchen staff.
• Coordinate purchasing and receiving of ingredients.
• Ensure smooth kitchen operations during peak periods.
• Assist with menu development and improvement.

Requirements

• Relevant experience as a Chef/Senior Chef preferred.
• Strong knowledge of kitchen operations and food preparation.
• Able to lead and supervise a kitchen team.
• Good understanding of food safety and hygiene.
• Able to manage inventory and food costs.
• Able to work shifts, weekends and public holidays.
• Food Safety Course certification where applicable.
