Principal Software Engineer
About this job
You'll work closely with teammates to deliver cool high scale product features. You'll partner with your product owners, teammates and cross functional teams around the company to identify problems and build solutions that benefit all of FairPrice Group.
You will design, implement and test robust iOS and Android apps that our FairPrice online/physical store and food services customers can rely on. Write clean code that’s testable, maintainable, solves the right problem and does it well. Actually, the code you can be proud of.
Duties and Responsibilities
Takes ownership in development of policies, standards and guidelines used in software development and integrations, and formulates the conceptual and detailed architecture for the development of applications (End-to-end delivery of epics including complex features/bugs)
Facilitate the review of change in architecture and infrastructure and ensure that change is inline with the policies, standards and guidelines
Define and guide the technical direction of the products to solve complex problems at scale
Translates user requirements into technical specification and manages the preparation of design specification
Oversees the development of solution and provides technical expertise on the development of software and platform features, ensuring appropriate security and risk factors are considered
Team management and and is responsible for managing projects and resources of the team
Contributes to the planning of the overall organizational IT strategy, budgets, forecasting, work allocations and staffing, and presents feasibility analysis on potential future projects to management. Assesses near-terms needs to establish business priorities and aligns architectural requirements with IT strategy
Proficient in complementary disciplines, such as Infrastructure, Quality Assurance, Agile Methodologies
Requirements
Minimum 8 years of relevant experience in both IT software development projects an/or IT operations system support role
Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or relevant field
Strong problem solving skills and enjoys the challenge of analysing, resolving complex issues and is able to interact effectively with others to gain buy-in where required
Excellent verbal and written communication skills
Portfolio of released applications on the App Store (or Enterprise)
Understanding of Apple’s design principles and interface guidelines
In-depth knowledge in Swift and Cocoa Touch programming
In-depth understanding in RESTful APIs to connect mobile applications to back-end services
Proficient in developing application in iOS, Android, Go, React Native, MySql / RDBMS / CI/CD tools
Familiarity with Protocol Oriented Programming design principles
Experience with offline storage, threading, performance tuning, Git. Swift. Xcode. CI/CD. Agile development methodologies
